The Head of QA will establish and lead the companys quality and compliance function from the ground up. This role will design, implement, and maintain a scalable Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001, while preparing the organization for future cross-industry and regulated-environment requirements.
The role includes end-to-end ownership of quality across hardware, software, and fabrication/production processes, with a strong emphasis on traceability, structured documentation, audits, supplier quality, and continuous improvement.
In the initial phase, this is a highly hands-on role, requiring direct involvement in testing, validation, process verification, and the identification and reporting of product and process issues, while building the quality infrastructure needed to support scale.
Full physical presence on site is required due to the hands-on nature of the role and the close interaction with development, fabrication, suppliers, and audits.
What youll do
Build and lead a scalable QMS aligned with ISO 9001, with a path toward GMP and regulated environments
Own quality across hardware, software, and fabrication/production processes
Build end-to-end traceability across the product lifecycle, from requirements to release
Create and maintain product and development documentation, including technical files, validation records, risk management, and change control
Set up document control processes, including versioning, approvals, and audit trails
Lead testing, validation, and process verification, with hands-on involvement in the early stages
Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement
Define and implement software quality processes, including development governance, testing, and change management
Manage supplier quality and audits, and lead external certification processes (ISO and future regulatory requirements)
Work closely with engineering to solve issues quickly and create strong feedback loops between testing and development
Help scale the function over time, moving from hands-on execution to broader system ownership and team growth.
Requirements: 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Management
Proven experience implementing or managing an ISO 9001-compliant QMS
Strong experience with development documentation, traceability, and product records
Experience across hardware and software environments
Experience with supplier quality, audits, corrective actions, and root cause analysis
Ability to build processes from scratch in a startup or scaling environment
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Fluent English, written and spoken, including the ability to produce technical and audit-ready documentation
Nice to have
Experience in MEMS, sensors, electronics, or deep-tech manufacturing
Experience with GAMP or other regulated environments
Familiarity with QMS, PLM, or ALM tools
Experience in startup or scale-up environments.
