We are seeking an experienced and innovative Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design, analysis, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, technical excellence, and strong problem-solving skills to develop and optimize advanced mechanical systems and components.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, assemblies, and components from concept to production.
Perform thermal analysis and simulations to ensure optimal system performance under various environmental and operational conditions.
Apply knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and additive manufacturing.
Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, software, and systems engineering teams to achieve integrated product designs.
Prepare detailed technical documentation, drawings, and design reports according to engineering standards.
Support prototype development, testing, and validation of mechanical components and systems.
Identify opportunities for design optimization, cost reduction, and performance improvement.

The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for all research, design, development, testing, and qualification of camera hardware for our products. We are searching for extraordinary Hardware Engineers to take ownership in the development and system integration of very high-performance, compact camera modules and depth-sensing hardware such as user facing cameras, through machine vision cameras and the revolutionary True Depth and LiDAR.

The primary responsibility for this role is design and delivery of cutting edge camera and depth sensing modules, from concept through production ramp. Heavy interaction with multidisciplinary design teams (electrical, mechanical, process, test, firmware, software and operations) requires the ability to understand a wide breadth of engineering and technical principles.

Responsibilities include:
Multi-functional leadership of optical, electrical and mechanical design teams to develop and integrate depth/camera hardware into products
Concept definition, design, and detailed trade studies for laser projectors, camera optics, sensors, and module packaging
Documentation of module-specific design, test, and manufacturing requirements
Leadership of international manufacturing partners for module design evaluation, prototype builds, and qualification
Leadership of failure analysis and corrective action implementation at manufacturing sites as well as remotely, including assembly processes, testing, and calibration; parametric-data analysis of end-of-line yield and post-reliability failures.
Frequent reporting to executive and multi-functional teams on the development status of module development
- International travel may be required to supplier facilities for product development and production bring-up.

The Depth Hardware Engineering group is responsible for depth and camera modules design and manufacture, as well as all research, development, test, and qualification of camera hardware for Apple products. The team is seeking a mechanical engineer with experience in designing opto-mechanical assemblies.

Design of opto-mechanical assemblies and packaging in CAD.
Design of CNC, injection molded, sheet metal and other component parts.
Close interface with manufacturing partners on design for manufacturability and resolution of mechanical issues.
Authoring of detailed 3D manufacturing and inspection drawings.
Rigorous tolerance analysis of module designs and component parts.
Author clear documentation on mechanical inspection, test requirements and assembly instructions.
Occasional travel to manufacturing partners is required.

Thermal Analysis Engineer (6027) We are seeking a Thermal Analysis Engineer to join our engineering team and support the design and development of advanced mechanical and multidisciplinary systems. The role focuses on performing thermal simulations and analyses to ensure system performance, reliability, and compliance with engineering requirements.
Responsibilities: Perform steady-state and transient thermal analyses using analytical and numerical methods
Develop and validate thermal models to support component and system -level design
Analyze heat transfer mechanisms, including conduction, convection, and radiation

Analyze PCB designs for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA) and identify issues early in the design cycle.
