The Shoresh Institution for Socioeconomic Research is seeking a native-born English speaker residing in Israel for the position of professional fundraiser.
The Shoresh Institution is Israel's only independent, nonpartisan, socioeconomic policy think-tank whose sole raison d"tre is its focus on the source, and long-term implications of Israel's internal, existential, long-term socioeconomic challenges. Shoresh's objective is to assist in moving Israel towards a sustainable long-term trajectory one that raises Israel's living standards while reducing disparity among its citizens.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute and oversee a comprehensive resource development
strategy
-Identify, cultivate, and solicit prospective donors, both abroad and in Israel
-Engage in donor stewardship to maintain and/or grow current gifts over the long term
- Organize fundraising meetings and events in Israel and abroad
- Research foundation and corporate grant opportunities
- Write grant proposals and donor reports
- Create fundraising materials
- Evaluate successes and failures on an ongoing basis and make appropriate strategic adjustments
- Prepare the President for fundraising meetings, summaries and follow up
- Collaborate with Marcom team to create campaigns, newsletter, website content to generate leads and engage audiences
- Cultivate partnerships with mission congruent organizations to share key findings and effectively spread information
Requirements: - Relevant work experience in a non-profit development capacity
- English native proficiency required; Hebrew fluent level required;
additional languages a plus
- Excellent English writing and oral communications abilities
- Close identification with the Shoresh Institution mission
- Have initiative and ability to work independently
- Creative, original, with an ability to think outside the box to find solutions
- Availability to travel abroad, and strong commitment to work long hours during
particularly busy times of the year to ensure goals are reached
