Flytrex is building an autonomous drone-delivery network for restaurants in suburban America. We are one of 4 companies that are FAA approved to fly over residential neighborhoods (together with Amazon, Google/Wing and Zipline) but are the only one exclusively focused on restaurants. Uber is an investor in Flytrex and we fly deliveries for Doordash as well. After thousands of successful commercial deliveries and multiple breakthrough FAA approvals, Flytrex is now expanding rapidly across the U.S., starting with Dallas Forth worth. Flytrex is revolutionizing on-demand delivery using drones, working hand in hand with some of the world’s largest retailers and restaurant chains, Flytrex is turning science fiction into reality. This video gives a high level explanation of what we are doing.. As we continue expanding our operations, we’re looking for a Flight Test & Integration Engineer (Entry-level) with a mechanical or robotics background to help bring our next-generation delivery drones to life. In this role, you’ll bridge the gap between design and real-world performance - preparing, executing, and analyzing flight and system tests. You’ll facilitate the multi-disciplinary system development process for Flytrex's drone delivery service and take part in hardware and mechanical integration, field testing, troubleshooting, and system validation. If you enjoy hands-on work, field testing, and making complex systems come together - this is for you. Must be a maker at heart with a hands-on attitude. Responsibilities
* Plan and execute lab and field integration testing of drone systems, including mechanical, electronic, and software components.
* Participate in the design, assembly, and bring-up processes of prototype and production hardware.
* Analyze test results, identify root causes, and support engineering teams with clear technical feedback.
* Work closely with mechanical, electronics, software, product, regulations and flight operations teams to ensure smooth system integration.
* Support continuous improvement of test processes, safety protocols, and documentation.
Requirements: * BSc in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or Robotics Engineering (or convince us why you don’t need it).
* 2–4 years of hands-on experience in multidisciplinary projects.
* Working familiarity with the relevant engineering disciplines: electronics, mechanics, and software.
* Strong mechanical and system-level understanding - from CAD and assembly to sensors and actuators.
* Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills in pursuing development and investigation efforts.
* Comfortable working outdoors.
* Strong teamwork and communication abilities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Advantages:
* Experience with UA systems, robotics platforms, or flight testing
* Familiarity with ArduPilot or other open-source flight controllers.
* Coding or capabilities(Python/C++).
* Experience with instrumentation, data logging, or mechanical testing tools.
This position is open to all candidates.
