Key Responsibilities:
The GIS Installation Commissioning & service Engineer will be responsible for executing installation, testing, and commissioning activities of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) systems at various customer sites across India. The role requires strong technical acumen, field experience, and coordination skills to ensure successful completion of projects in compliance with our company standards, customer specifications, and international norms.
Key Responsibilities
Execute on-site GIS installation as per company standards and customer-approved drawings.
Perform pre-commissioning, HV testing, and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) of GIS systems at customer premises.
Independently manage site activities, supervise technicians, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
Prepare and maintain site documentation, including test reports, inspection records, and handover documents.
Preparation of SOP, MOS and other project documentation to support the team with back-office works
Interact directly with customers, addressing technical queries and ensuring clear communication.
Collaborate with factory, engineering, and project teams to resolve site issues and meet project timelines.
Ensure strict compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) guidelines during all site operations.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical feedback for future design or process enhancements.
Requirements: Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in testing, commissioning, or installation of GIS / AIS / substation equipment.
Knowledge of national and international standards (IEC, IS, etc.) relevant to high-voltage systems.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Prior experience with public sector utilities or reputed private organizations will be an added advantage.
Willingness to travel extensively across India and work at remote project sites.
