We are looking for an R&D Group Leader to take ownership of our most critical technology efforts, shape the future of our products, and inspire a growing team to achieve excellence together!
What you'll be doing:
Own end-to-end delivery of core product capabilities, from strategy and design, through implementation, rollout, and ongoing support.
Lead a cross-functional team (10+ engineers, QA, developers, data science) responsible for the companys main IP.
Balance strategic initiatives (scaling platform, building new capabilities) with operational excellence (supporting more than 15K customers).
Partner with Product, Support, and other stakeholders to align technical direction with business priorities.
Drive structured planning processes, setting priorities, defining milestones, and ensuring delivery against commitments.
Champion Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban): run effective ceremonies, foster transparency, and ensure continuous improvement through clear KPIs and measurable outcomes.
Establish and maintain engineering best practices (architecture, code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability).
Mentor, develop, and inspire a high-performing engineering team while building a strong culture of accountability and collaboration.
Requirements: 5+ years leading engineering teams (812+ people, cross-functional).
Strong background in software engineering (backend/platform focus ideal), capable of guiding architecture and design.
8+ years development experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js including ES6+ features and TypeScript type systems
Proven web development experience with strong DOM manipulation and element handling
Backend experience with Node.js frameworks (Express, Fastify) and microservices architecture
GCP experience is an advantage
Strategic thinker: ability to define long-term technical vision and align with business strategy.
Operational excellence: experience running production systems at scale, ensuring reliability for thousands of customers.
Cross-functional leadership: demonstrated success working with Product, Support, and business stakeholders.
People leadership: mentoring, performance management, building culture, attracting talent.
Strong communication skills, able to influence at both executive and team levels.
Background in accessibility, web technologies, or frontend-heavy platforms - strong advantage
