We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to develop airborne mechanical assemblies, structures, and avionics packaging, and to support projects from design reviews through manufacturing, integration, aircraft surveys, and on-site installation. Key Responsibilities
* Develop concepts, detailed designs, 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications for airborne mechanical systems;
* Design metallic, sheet-metal, machined, and composite components with attention to weight, cost, reliability, and manufacturability;
* Prepare and present technical packages for PDR and CDR reviews;
* Coordinate mechanical interfaces with systems, stress, electrical, avionics, manufacturing, quality, test, and certification teams;
* Support prototype builds, qualification testing, aircraft integration, installation, troubleshooting, and design improvements;
* Manage engineering changes, drawing releases, configuration control, and product documentation throughout the development lifecycle; and
* Work with suppliers and production teams to resolve fabrication, assembly, and installation issues.
Requirements:
* B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or certification as a Practical Mechanical Engineer;
* Full professional proficiency in English and Hebrew – Must;
* A minimum of five years of experience in mechanical design – Must;
* Advanced proficiency in SOLIDWORKS – A Significant Advantage;
* Experience in the aerospace or defense sectors, including familiarity with AS9100 and DO-160 – A Significant Advantage;
* Demonstrated experience in vendor management and hands-on installation support – A Significant Advantage;
* Practical knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, materials, and manufacturing processes – A Significant Advantage;
* Experience with configuration management or PLM/PDM tools and formal engineering change processes – An Advantage; and
* Experience supporting environmental or qualification testing, including vibration, shock, and thermal testing – An Advantage;
