As an Operations Technician, you'll install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware (like servers and its components) and server software (like our Linux cluster). You'll also address the configuration of more complex components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches and networking protocols. You'll participate in or lead small project teams on larger installations and develop project contingency plans. A typical day involves manual movement and installation of racks, and while it can sometimes be physically demanding, you are excited to work with infrastructure that is at the cutting-edge of computer technology.
You manage a team that ensures the quality installation of server hardware and components. You coordinate over multiple sites and take charge of complicated installations/troubleshooting.
The Data Center team operates some of the most sophisticated server, storage and networking systems on the planet. Our teams ensure that our customer service level agreements and availability goals are met while maintaining environmental and safety standards, at scale.
In this role, you will be responsible for daily operations in third-party owned and operated data center facilities. You will manage a team of data center technicians and oversee the installation and maintenance of server and network infrastructure. You will take charge of complicated installations/troubleshooting and ensure timely completion of project work. As a people manager, you will look after your team's development and career growth.

Responsibilities
Lead a team of individuals; set and communicate individual and team priorities that support organizational goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.
Maintain, monitor, and execute security and operational procedures and track/analyze trends to identify opportunities for improvements ensuring alignment with organizational policies.
Repair, fix, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure based on identified issues.
Support and contribute to the implementation of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and other compliance programs and initiatives in collaboration with other teams to ensure environmental and safety incidents are investigated, resolved, and reported.

Responsibilities:
IT Operations & Support
Own internal IT operations and employee technical support globally
Manage onboarding/offboarding processes, endpoint provisioning, and access management
Troubleshoot and resolve escalated hardware, software, connectivity, and infrastructure issues
Establish and improve IT processes, documentation, and support workflows
Network & Infrastructure Management
Manage office network infrastructure, wireless environments, VPN connectivity, and related vendors
Troubleshoot network performance, connectivity, and reliability issues across office and remote environments
Partner with external providers on network architecture, escalations, and ongoing optimization
Support SaaS platforms, identity/access systems, and cloud-managed infrastructure
Endpoint Management
Administer MDM and endpoint management platforms (e.g. Kandji)
Partner closely with Security team on endpoint compliance, VPN/SASE solutions, device security, and access controls
Help implement and maintain IT security best practices and operational policies
Cross-Functional & Vendor Collaboration
Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers
Work closely with IT and Security stakeholders at Element to coordinate shared infrastructure, policies, escalations, and support processes
Lead IT improvement initiatives and infrastructure projects
Drive operational maturity, scalability, and reliability across the IT environment.
