DRS RADA Technologies , a leading defense company developing and manufacturing life-saving radar systems, is seeking a Director of Quality Assurance for its facility in Beit Shean. Role Overview 1. Management and Responsibility for Management Systems:
* Lead, manage, and continuously improve the plant’s management systems in compliance with: AS9100 (Aerospace & Defense Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety).
* Serve as the plant’s focal point and subject matter expert for all standard requirements and their implementation.
* Lead preparation for internal and external audits (including regulatory and customer audits).
* Manage quality across the supply chain and within a global organization. 2. Manufacturing Excellence and Process Improvement – Multidisciplinary Approach:
* Conduct in-depth, multidisciplinary analyses of existing production processes, integrating knowledge in engineering, materials, electronics, and software to identify bottlenecks and quality issues.
* Lead continuous improvement projects in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, operations, procurement, and logistics teams.
* Implement statistical tools ( SPC – Statistical Process Control ) to monitor and control critical production processes, with a strong understanding of system-wide implications. 3. Leading a Culture of Quality and Safety:
* Act as a key figure in embedding a strong quality and safety culture across all levels of the organization.
* Guide and train production teams and management in quality, environmental, and safety topics, adapting communication to diverse technical audiences.
* Define and develop training programs in quality, safety, and environmental domains. 4. Team Management and Organizational Interfaces:
* Lead and manage the plant’s quality team (Quality Manager, Quality Engineers, Inspectors).
* Serve as the leading professional authority on quality in discussions with customers, suppliers, and strategic partners, with the ability to understand complex, multidisciplinary product requirements.
* Provide ongoing reporting to the VP of Quality on quality system performance, key metrics (KPIs), and risks.
Requirements: Experience:
* At least 5 years of experience managing quality systems in a manufacturing environment
* Strong preference for experience in aerospace, defense, space, or complex electronics/mechanical industries Education:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
* Master’s degree – an advantage Professional Knowledge:
* Proven, hands-on expertise in AS9100 Rev. D mandatory
* Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
* Demonstrated multidisciplinary understanding across engineering domains (mechanics, electronics, hardware, software) as applied to complex manufacturing processes
* Practical experience implementing process improvement methodologies ( Lean, Six Sigma
* In-depth familiarity with statistical and quality tools ( SPC, FMEA
* Experience in team management and employee training Personal Skills:
