We are looking for a Student System Engineer to join our team responsible for a novel Raman spectroscopy product line, with systems at various stages of maturity, from early R&D to high-volume manufacturing (HVM) readiness.
As a Student System Engineer, you will collaborate with our multidisciplinary systems engineering team to develop innovative features, system architectures, and conduct root cause analyses.
Your work will focus on optical systems and Python-based development. We value creativity, critical thinking, and structured problem-solving, all within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
What youll be doing:
Designing and implementing system-level tests and calibrations, including spec definitions and Python scripting
Conducting proof-of-concept and feasibility tests for new software and hardware features
Performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex, physics-based system issues
Collaborating with system, software, and optical engineers
Analyzing data and performing statistical evaluations to support system development.
Requirements: MSc or PhD student in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
OR
BSc student in one of the above with relevant experience from the military or industry
Proficiency in Python or MATLAB
Background in optics through research or coursework
Hands-on optics experience- Advantages.
