Our team is seeking Senior electro-optics engineer/physicist to be part of innovation in projection module technology. This position reports to the optical engine innovation group as part of imaging system organization and will play a pivotal role in shaping next-generation optical engines and projection systems. The successful candidate will tackle challenging technical problems, identify strategic opportunities in projection architecture, and transform them into real-world products. We are looking for a technical expert passionate about electro-optics and projection system design to help build our future.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive R&D projects through the development cycle, with a strong emphasis on early-stage projection module research and optical engine development.
Develop and refine projector design concepts, build prototypes, and test their feasibility for performance and manufacturability.
Execute technology maturation projects through advanced modeling and experimental validation.
Design and construct testbeds to evaluate projection prototypes for image quality, light modulation, and system reliability.
Perform rigorous testing to verify functionality and optimize projection module performance.
Conduct simulation, modeling, and analysis to support product development and solve complex optical challenges.
Requirements: 8+ Demonstrated experience in developing projector design concepts, building prototypes, and conducting feasibility assessments for optical projection systems.
Proven problem solver with a mindset for uncovering root causes and advancing fundamental understanding.
Highly collaborative and reliable-able to create and communicate work plans, schedules, and resource requirements while managing multiple complex activities in parallel.
Technical depth in at least two of the following disciplines: MEMS based projection system (preferred), AR waveguide projection systems (preferred), systems engineering, mechanical, controls & software (preferred) and ability to learn new technical domains as needed.
Advanced degree (MS or higher) in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering (photonics focus), optical science & engineering, materials science & engineering, or related fields.
Targeted Skills
Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation, and/or Python for experimental control and data analysis.
Lead development solution with other disciplines stakeholder like algo, mechanics, electronics, system.
Lead communication with vendors - optional
