What You’ll Do
* Lead development of complex web and e-commerce systems and digital platforms (frontend and backend)
* Design scalable backend architecture, APIs, and integrations - Turn complex designs into fully functional, scalable Shopify and Craft CMS solutions
* deeply familiar with AI tools and uses them as part of your everyday workflow — from coding and refactoring to automation and solution design
* Identify practical opportunities to implement AI features in a way that’s stable, secure, and scalable
* Turn product and design requirements into clean, production-ready code
* Write clean, high-quality code that performs well and scales smoothly
* Set up and maintain smart testing, CI/CD, and deployment processes
* Work closely with Project Managers, Customer Success, Webmasters, leadership and other developers to keep projects moving forward
* Mentor and support team members and contribute to improving development practices
* Look for better, smarter ways to do things — whether that’s improving code structure, tools, or overall architecture

This is a high-impact role in a lean team with a clear mission: deliver AI-powered product capabilities end-to-end, from idea and prototype to production rollout, monitoring, and iteration. Were not experimenting with AI; were building real product features and laying the AI foundation that will power RIVO for years to come.

Reporting to: AI Team Lead
Roles and Responsibilities:
Own AI features end-to-end: translate product problems into AI solutions, prototype quickly, productionize, and continuously improve based on real usage and metrics.
Build and maintain production-grade AI services using Python and/or Node.js, integrated into RIVOs backend architecture.
Develop the AI foundation for RIVO: shared building blocks, standards, templates, APIs, evaluation tooling, guardrails, and observability.
Design and implement prompting strategies, function/tool calling flows, and structured output patterns to achieve reliable results.
Build and optimize RAG pipelines (retrieval, ranking, chunking, context construction) and integrate with vector databases and hybrid retrieval techniques.
Implement evaluation and monitoring: offline testing, automated regression suites, online metrics, cost monitoring, and quality dashboards.
Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Domain Experts to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business value.
Research and adopt the best-fit models and approaches (OpenAI/Anthropic/open-source), including routing, fallback strategies, and cost/performance optimization.
Write clean, scalable, well-tested, and well-documented code.

Roles and Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered services and product features into production.
Design and build scalable and reliable backend infrastructure to support AI capabilities (APIs, workflows, guardrails, monitoring, cost controls).
Own the lifecycle of AI services end-to-end: discovery, prototyping, evaluation, production rollout, monitoring, iteration, and maintenance.
Contribute to building RIVOs AI foundation by developing reusable building blocks (shared libraries, templates, integration patterns, evaluation utilities).
Apply advanced prompt engineering techniques and LLM orchestration patterns (tool/function calling, structured outputs, routing, fallback strategies) to achieve reliable and predictable behavior.
Implement and optimize retrieval-based systems including embeddings, vector search, and RAG pipelines.
Research, evaluate, and recommend models, tools, and frameworks, balancing quality, latency, cost, and maintainability.
Write high-quality, production-ready code and actively participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
