We are looking for an exceptional Scientific Director, Physics to lead our Physics organization and help shape the scientific foundation behind our next generation of product innovation.
In this highly visible leadership role, you will lead a team of physicists working at the intersection of physics, biology, engineering, and clinical science to advance our Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) technology. As a member of the Product Development Leadership Team, you will provide scientific direction, develop organizational capabilities, and help solve complex multidisciplinary challenges that drive innovation from early discovery through clinical application.
This role requires both scientific depth and leadership excellence. You will build and develop a high-performing team, foster a hypothesis-driven approach to scientific problem solving, and influence strategic decisions across Product Development, Preclinical Research, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Clinical teams.
Success in this role means building a world-class physics organization, strengthening scientific capabilities, driving meaningful innovation, and translating complex scientific questions into practical solutions that accelerate product development and improve outcomes for patients.
This is a full-time position based at our R&D center in Haifa, Israel, reporting to the Global Head of Product Development.
What you will do
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10-15 physicists focused on product innovation, biophysics, modeling, and experimental physics.
Serve as a key member of the Product Development Leadership Team, providing scientific leadership across product innovation initiatives.
Partner closely with Product Innovation, Preclinical Research, Clinical, Medical Affairs, Publications, and other cross-functional teams to solve multidisciplinary scientific and technical challenges.
Define and advance the scientific and modeling framework that supports product innovation, translational research, and clinical development.
Apply deep scientific expertise to guide multiple initiatives spanning device physics, biology, and clinical applications.
Build new organizational capabilities by developing internal talent and leveraging external scientific expertise when needed.
Promote and model a hypothesis-driven scientific approach to problem solving and decision-making.
Support scientific publications, patent development, regulatory submissions, and external research collaborations.
Deliver internal and external scientific training on the physics of Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields), as needed.
Requirements: Ph.D. in Physics, Biophysics, or a related scientific discipline.
At least 10 years of professional experience (or 7+ years following completion of a Ph.D.), with experience in academia considered an advantage.
At least 4-5 years of industry experience leading and developing scientific teams.
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary scientific organizations and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong systems-thinking capabilities with the ability to connect physics, biology, medical devices, and disease understanding to product innovation.
Ability to balance long-term scientific strategy with execution and measurable business impact.
Outstanding leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working across global teams, multiple locations, cultures, and time zones.
Ability to manage multiple strategic priorities in a dynamic environment.
Fluency in English and Hebrew, both written and spoken.
