What You'll Do As our NPI Engineer, you will own the process of transitioning complex electro-mechanical products from the prototype stage to volume production. Key Responsibilities: Lead the transition of electronics and mechanics projects from prototype phases to successful volume production. Collaborate with R&D on accepting, managing and versioning design & manufacturing documentation and materials (BOMs, drawings, schematics, assembly manuals, production testing protocols, testing jigs and software), ensuring consistency, completeness, applicability and qualification for production. Oversee pilot runs and production ramp-up, proactively identifying and resolving any manufacturing or quality issues. Design and qualify production jigs, fixtures, and other tools required for assembly and testing. Collaborate with R&D to implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles from the early stages of development. Serve as the primary technical liaison with contract manufacturers (CMs) and key component suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

The Engineering Department is looking for an experienced mechanical engineer to join the Engineering- NPI HW Matrix Team.

Responsibilities
What will you be doing:

Lead changes via Engineering Change Orders (ECOs); build and update Bill of Material (BOM) definitions, hierarchy, and structure levels while addressing operational aspects.
Lead NPI (New Product Introduction) activities, design for manufacturability, cycle time, reliability, and focus on technology methods, industry familiarity.
Define and write technical documentation such as assembly instructions, routing instructions, calibration instructions, test plans, etc.
Lead mechanical design and improvements via SolidEdge/SolidWorks, handle CAD models and drawing definitions.
Drive mechanical design activities, for example: opto-mechanics, electro-mechanics, chassis, package design, test devices (jigs), and fixtures.
Work with Novas suppliers and subcontractors, acting as a technical focal point and leading suppliers New Product Introduction (NPI).
Play a technical pivot role in the Operations department and collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Production, Purchasing, Planning, and Service.

What are we looking for?
An NPI Engineer that will join our growing production team and build the position and process from scratch. This is a first time position of NPI in our company, so you will have great responsibility to build the field.

The New Product Introduction leader Engineer will function as a key member of the Operations team that ensures an orderly transition from R&D to Operations. The NPI / Product lead Eng will be responsible for new product introduction, manufacture processes, product documentation, tech aspects, tooling, support test equipment and automation for both new and existing products. In addition, the engineer will support sustain manufacture products and activities.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for building and managing Product/Production file, Product documentation, BOM, jigs/tools/Fixtures design, DFXs, production needs and troubleshooting.
Be the operation technical focal point and collaborate cross functionally with R&D, engineering, supply chain, quality.
Managing and control Turn- Key/Suppliers engineering activities for box build/subunits, local and overseas throughout the project lifecycle and post release.
Engaging test related projects with subcontractor delivering electrical and mechanical related test equipment to the production line
Responsible for conducting product ECO process including implementation and configuration control.
Manage and execute FAIs at subcontractors site.
Validation of manufacturing process to meet targets, production output and quality standards.
Support operation engineering processes such as Waiver/Deviations, EOL, FMEA, root causes analysis, continues improvement, Audits. Support on-going production processes and equipment, train subcontractors & production line.
Support IQC, IPQC, OQC documentation and process.
Implementation of manufacturing transfer requirements, TTP from us to Suppliers/Contract Manufacturing and its 2nd tier (if applicable).
