As a Manager of Data Platform Ops Engineers, you will drive automation initiatives, strategic planning, and the discovery of new features to ensure our data platform is continuously optimized for growth. In collaboration with the Data Platform Infrastructure, youll help shape the operational roadmap and lead efforts to scale and automate our platform.

What Will You Actually Be Doing?

Design and implement automation strategies to enhance data platform efficiency, with a focus on stability, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Collaborate with Data Platform Infrastructure and Data Engineering teams to identify feature gaps, evaluate new technologies, and prioritize enhancements for the platform.
Proactively monitor systems to identify opportunities for automation and reliability improvements, using scripting and orchestration tools like Python, Terraform, and Jenkins.
Support roadmap planning by analyzing platform performance metrics, feature usage, and team feedback to ensure ongoing alignment with organizational goals.
Participate in research and proof-of-concept activities for new tools and technologies that enhance platform performance and meet evolving data needs.
Document automation workflows, feature improvements, and troubleshooting procedures to ensure streamlined platform operations.

We are looking for an seasoned backend engineer with a strong background who understands the principles of distributed data processing engines and has built complicated data processing pipelines. Familiar with modern data processing stack, have a strong problem-solving attitude and, most importantly, youre passionate about understanding the business side of the platform. Our platform engineers have an end-to-end understanding of the data our products generate and the commercial models and data structures in which they fit.
What you'll do:
Develop end-to-end ETLs and data infrastructure features from data processing logic to database choice and implementation through to API development
Improve the scalability and performance of existing data pipelines and query engine
Solve scalability challenges for ad-hoc querying
Delve into existing pipelines and business logic, target weaknesses and add functionality
Work with Product and other members of R&D in finding creative solutions to our customers problems
Continuously learn and follow new technologies both for personal growth and to ensure we are making the most informed technology choices possible
