The Medical Director leads medical aspects and the development of medical procedures and technology. Serves as company liaison with healthcare providers, KOLs, and clinical trial investigators and site teams. Designs, develops and executes clinical development strategy and plans for specific indications/projects, based on knowledge of the disease area and science so to meet business, regulatory, and disease strategy targets.
Reports to VP Clinical Development and Regulatory Affairs.
Requirements: 1. MD after residency or fellowship (PhD - an advantage, several years as a senior physician - an advantage).
a. internal medicine is an advantage
2. At least 5 years industry experience in clinical development
3. Experience in rare or orphan diseases an advantage.
4. Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, scientific and clinical methodology, protocol design, project management and regulatory requirements for clinical studies.
5. Ability to work in multi-disciplinary environment
6. Experienced in interactions with global health authorities (FDA, EMA, PMDA) - Advantage
