We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Sr. AI PHY System Engineer to design, implement, and integrate advanced cellular communication systems for our next-generation base-station products. The role leads PHY activities from feature development through integration, with a strong emphasis on automation and the use of modern AI tools to accelerate development, debugging, and validation.
What you'll do:
Leverage existing AI tools (AI coding assistants, LLM-based workflows) to speed up development, code comprehension, debugging, and documentation.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers within the PHY team, including sharing best practices for automation and AI-assisted development.
Act as the focal point for all PHY and RF-related aspects.
Define and write system-level requirements.
Continuously optimize and fine-tune PHY-layer algorithms to enhance the performance and efficiency of base-station products.
Build automation and internal tooling to streamline PHY development, integration, and lab testing - reducing manual effort and improving repeatability.
Work within existing codebases and repositories: understand the current architecture quickly, extend it responsibly, and add new capabilities without destabilizing established flows.
Design and develop new tools (test harnesses, analysis utilities, reporting dashboards) to support PHY bring-up and validation.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of PHY components with software, digital signal processing (DSP), and other subsystems.

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and passionate PHY/RF algorithm expert to join our RU Architecture & Algorithms team. In this role you will research, study simulate, and invent new algorithms in the PHY and RF domains for our next-generation radio products - working on state-of-the-art problems alongside highly skilled multi-disciplinary teams.
A key part of our charter is bringing AI/ML-based methods into the RF/PHY domain, and you will help shape and realize that direction.
Job Responsibilities:
Research & invention - study the state of the art and conceive, develop, and prototype novel PHY/RF algorithms for advanced cellular radio products.
Modeling & simulation - build MATLAB/Python models and run simulations to validate concepts, quantify performance, and de-risk ideas before implementation.
Trade-off analysis - balance performance against implementation cost, real-time constraints, and time-to-market to converge on the right design.
AI/ML for RF/PHY - explore and apply machine-learning and data-driven techniques to RF/PHY problems (e.g., neural DPD, channel estimation, interference/PIM classification, beamforming, and related areas).
From research to release - drive algorithms from research and simulation through to an official release, including specification documents and hands-on support during implementation and integration toward high-quality deliveries.
Collaboration - work with highly skilled architecture, system, firmware, hardware, and validation teams to bring algorithms into real products.

We are seeking a highly experienced professional with a strong background in RF, digital, and system-level testing, and with the ability to guide technical decisions, solve complex integration challenges, and support advanced test equipment for production environments.

What will you do:

Design and develop Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for RF, digital, and mixed-signal products at board and system levels.

Lead the technical definition and implementation of test strategies in collaboration with R&D, product engineering, and manufacturing teams.

Own the technical analysis of system schematics, block diagrams, and interface requirements to define robust and reliable ATE solutions.

Support production lines by troubleshooting test failures and optimizing test processes for yield and throughput improvements.

Provide technical guidance for integration with software and firmware control and automation systems.

Evaluate and select test instruments, fixtures, and measurement techniques based on product specifications.

Maintain documentation for test systems, including design files, calibration procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Mentor engineers and technicians on ATE methodologies, operation, and maintenance.
