We are seeking a driven and experienced Backend Developer to join our dynamic R&D team. In this role, you will lead complex backend projects end-to-end starting from understanding functional specifications, through writing detailed technical documentation, designing system architecture, developing and deploying high-performance backend services using modern technologies and cloud infrastructure, while closely collaborating with Product, DevOps, QA, and fellow developers to deliver robust and scalable systems, and providing technical leadership through code reviews and mentoring junior team members.
What youll do:
Lead complex backend projects from functional spec, through writing detailed technical documentation, architecture, development, and deployment.
Build and maintain high-performance backend services using modern technologies and cloud infrastructure.
Collaborate closely with Product, DevOps, QA and fellow developers to deliver robust, scalable systems.
Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, and guide junior team members.

Take a leadership role in achieving team goals, contributing to the overall design, architecture, development, quality, and production deployment of the team's systems.
Design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable backend solutions for complex scenarios, ensuring high-quality results that may be consumed by other teams.
Collaborate effectively within your team and with cross-functional partners, such as Product, Design/UX, DevOps, and other R&D teams, representing your team as needed.
Maintain and improve the team's engineering practices, suggesting and implementing technology, patterns, or process enhancements.
Proactively identify areas of improvement in team systems, processes, and scalability.
Lead by example in code quality, contributing significantly to code reviews and acting as a focal point for engineering excellence questions.
Help monitor production systems, investigate potential issues, and lead efforts to resolve critical production challenges while maintaining a customer-centric approach.

Responsibilities:
Design and develop backend services and APIs for SaaS applications using Node.js and TypeScript
Architect and implement microservices and distributed systems optimized for scalability and maintainability
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and testing
Develop cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services and Kubernetes (EKS)
Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform and Helm for Kubernetes deployments
Ensure system reliability, security, observability, and performance at scale
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features in an agile environment
Continuously improve platform architecture and development workflows.
