The Claims Conference is a global, non-profit organization committed to providing a small measure of justice to Holocaust Survivors.
Our headquarters are in New York while the 200+ social service agencies we fund are located in 47 countries across six continents.
In 2020, the Claims Conference will distribute approximately $400 million in direct compensation and nearly $600 million in grants that provide support to over 130,000 Survivors worldwide, including in-home nursing care, hunger relief, medical and dental
programs. We continue to actively negotiate with the German government to expand funding criteria, such as the recent recognition of Algerian and Kindertransport survivors, enabling them to receive
compensation for their experiences for the first time in history.

We are looking for a full-time Demographer with expertise in Holocaust survivor populations to conduct independent demographic research and reporting on Holocaust survivors throughout the world.
You will support survivors social, physical, psychological, economic and health needs by researching issues related to Holocaust survivors, including analyzing the population distribution, life expectancy, and conditions of Holocaust survivors globally.
This position can be performed remotely with a flexible work schedule.
Travel to the New York Headquarters will be required.

Responsibilities:
Conduct research and analyze Holocaust survivor population, including survivor needs and poverty relative to other elderly populations in the same geographic region as well as relative to other survivors in different geographic regions;
Commission and organize research, issue papers on demography of Holocaust survivors;
Present reporting to Leadership and Board Members;
Analyze the impact of Claims Conference Social Welfare Programs;
Utilize internal databases and external sources of information as well as statistical software to analyze Holocaust survivor populations;
Oversee workshops for colleagues in affiliated areas, demography conferences and an online newsletter providing updates with relevant information;
Analyze and assess external reports on data relating to Holocaust survivors.
