What You'll Do:
As a Senior Backend Engineer on our Core Platform team, you will:
Design and build shared platform components used across multiple product teams, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability
Architect distributed systems using microservices and event-driven patterns that support enterprise-scale workloads
Own critical backend services from conception through deployment, including code quality, performance optimization, and operational excellence
Collaborate extensively with product engineers, DevOps, and architects to define platform capabilities and technical standards
Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance
Drive technical initiatives that improve developer productivity, system observability, and platform resilience
Contribute to architectural decisions and establish best practics for backend development across the organization
Analyze system performance and data patterns to identify optimization opportunities and inform future platform investments

We are seeking a Software Engineering Architect to join the company Tableau engineering team. You will be instrumental in designing and architecting complex, data-driven software systems at scale, with a heavy focus on delivering a best-of-breed Semantic Layer for AI-based data analytics capabilities. As a key technical leader, you will shape the architecture, guide engineering teams in standard methodologies, and ensure the scalability, reliability, performance, and security of our products. You will work on high-impact projects and collaborate closely with Principal Architects.
Your Impact:
Architectural Design & Strategy: Define secure, scalable, and resilient architecture for large-scale, distributed, high-performance systems across multiple cloud environments. Ensure technical solutions align with customer needs, platform, other teas and business requirements.
Semantic Layer & AI Focus: Design, evolve, and govern the next generation of our semantic layer and data modeling framework. Drive the leverage of AI (LLMs and more) and analytic agentic capabilities by providing a unified, rich, and performant data interface.
Execution & Ownership: Be hands-on: write code and POCs, engage in pull requests, and remain close to the code. Simultaneously handle multiple complex, high-priority projects, ensuring architectural decisions support short- and long-term business objectives.
Technical Leadership & Optimization: Provide leadership and mentorship to engineering teams. Lead efforts to optimize system performance and scalability, and ensure high availability and resilience.
Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with multi-functional teams (PMs, AI experts, engineers, and stakeholders) to define and implement architectural strategies. Create comprehensive documentation for architectural designs and decisions.

We are seeking an exceptional architect to join our architecture team and shape the future of quantum control. We have a unique opportunity to set the architecture of the next-generation quantum computers towards utility scale quantum computing.
In this role, you will lead the architecture definition of the next generation quantum control system, from units/building blocks roles and responsibilities, core components such as DACs/ADCs, FPGAs, communication interfaces and power and cooling solutions .Designing a scalable architecture of quantum control requires deep understanding of quantum computing, system tradeoffs and product requirements. In this role, youll work closely with Product to define the hardware requirements and an architecture to address them. Youll identify system level tradeoffs, identify solutions alternatives and define POCs to evaluate them. In your role youll be working closely with all R&D teams, in particular the system, hardware and logic teams and with partners in the industry.
Responsibilities:
Architecture for the next generation quantum control system and hardware
Define system-level architecture and features, providing detailed specifications to the various R&D teams.
Collaborate with the product and research to transform high level requirements into architecture and spec definitions and presenting tradeoffs
Collaborate with the architecture team members to consolidate requirements and implications for the software and logic architecture
Work with partners and vendors on requirements and joint development to optimize the product capabilities
Define requirements for research activities and for proof-of-concepts for new architecture and technical capabilities.
