As part of this role, you will:
* Own the charter and vision of your team, and work with PM, UX, and Applied Science teams to build the best shopping experience for millions of our customers.

Requirements:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of software development experience working in object-oriented design and coding in Java, C# or related technologies.
- Proven experience working with scalable and complex architecture.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.
- Proven leadership skills and teamwork skills.
- Experience guiding and mentoring software development engineers.
- Strong design, architecture, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successfully taken a v1 product from inception to customer delivery.
- M.S. in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in leading Applied Scientists, Data Scientists, and Machine Learning Engineers.
- Expertise in NLP (Natural Language Processing), IR (Information Retrieval), Search, and Recommendation systems.
- Experience in building big-data pipelines and solving customer problems using Machine Learning and Data Science.
