We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary Account Management Platform Squad.
Join a small, high-impact team building the financial backbone of Sunbit. We're developing a new loan management system from the ground up while keeping critical business systems running - and we need someone who thrives in that kind of challenge.
You'll own significant parts of the new platform architecture, working closely with our BE Engineers and Data Engineers. Including designing, building, and shipping core systems that power how Sunbit manages accounts, balances, settlements, and financial history.
This role is for someone who loves solving hard problems, takes ownership, and delivers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and build core backend services for loan lifecycle management - creation, updates, balances, adjustments, and reconciliation.
Ensure data consistency and integrity across distributed financial systems.
Lead the design and implementation of scalable event-driven or microservices architecture supporting internal and external account operations.
Collaborate closely with Product, Finance, and Data teams to align on accounting, compliance, and operational requirements.
Investigate and resolve complex production issues, ensuring platform reliability and transparency.
Promote best practices in system design, security, observability, and testing.

About the Role:
The Card Team is at the heart of our credit card product. We manage the entire customer lifecycle, from the initial application and card ordering process to automated account management, including collections, credit limit adjustments, and monthly statements. Our team develops and maintains the platforms that allow over 300,000 customers (a number that has nearly doubled in the last year) to manage their accounts, update personal details, make payments, and view their transaction history. We support both direct-to-consumer cards and co-branded cards for our strategic partners, making a direct impact on the company's growth and our customers' financial lives.

As a Senior Software Engineer, youll design, develop, and deploy robust software systems across our platform. What Youll Actually Be Doing
Design, build, test, and deploy backend systems for high-scale financial applications
Lead architecture reviews and drive decisions across technologies and platforms

Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Security teams to deliver seamless experiences
Own and improve development lifecycles including CI/CD, observability, and cloud automation
Debug production issues and lead efforts to ensure system reliability and uptime
Contribute to internal documentation and onboarding processes
Participate in a Tier 2/3 on-call rotation to support business-critical systems.

As a Senior Developer, youll work hands-on with modern Java, REST APIs, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, MySQL, and more to build business-critical features on vRx. Youll collaborate with product, front-end, QA, support, and sales teams to ensure seamless development, all while leading end-to-end feature development that addresses real-world security needs.

Responsibilities:
