We're growing fast and looking for an experienced and passionate senior leader to head our Application Engineering groups. This is a unique opportunity to drive the development of our cutting-edge SaaS platform, purpose-built for enterprise clients in the financial services sector.
As VP of Application Engineering, you will play a key role in shaping the architecture, roadmap, and practices of our core platform. Youll help steer the evolution of our SaaS solution to meet the needs of enterprise customers, while building the technical and organizational foundations for scale. In addition to guiding development priorities, youll foster a culture of engineering excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the application teams.
This role reports directly to the CTO and is part of FundGuards leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the end-to-end development of our application layer, which integrates big data technologies and a distributed services architecture built for scale and resilience.
Lead and inspire a growing organization of ~80 engineers, building a strong engineering culture focused on quality, agility, and impact.
Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions by collaborating closely with R&D leadership, Product, and Customer Success teams (across Tel Aviv and the U.S.).
Ensure timely and high-quality delivery across multiple product areas, features, and customer initiatives.
Continuously evolve engineering practices, organizational structure, and team capabilities to support FundGuards rapid growth.
Requirements: 10+ years of experience in software engineering leadership, including managing large-scale, cross-functional R&D organizations (60+ engineers).
Proven track record in leading the full lifecycle of complex SaaS/web applicationsfrom design through production in high-growth environments.
Deep hands-on technical expertise in cloud-based, scalable systems, big data technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark, Elasticsearch, Cassandra), and the Java ecosystem (required).
Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a bias for action.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative, team-first attitude.
BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field from a leading academic institution.
Experience in finance or investment accountingan advantage.
Fluency in English and Hebrew.
