Job Description
We are looking for a Deputy Production Manager to support the Production Manager in the day-to-day management of the Production Department. The Deputy Production Manager will work closely with the Production Manager and assist in managing production activities, employees and operational matters on the production floor. The role includes hands-on involvement in production, employee management, problem-solving and supporting the achievement of production and quality targets. This is a hands-on management position for an experienced production professional with leadership experience in an electronics manufacturing environment who is looking to develop their management career.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist the Production Manager in the day-to-day management of the Production Department.
* Support the management and coordination of production employees and teams.
* Assist with assigning tasks and responsibilities according to production priorities.
* Support the implementation of production plans and help ensure production and delivery targets are met.
* Monitor daily production activities and assist in resolving operational issues on the production floor.
* Support employee management, including onboarding, training, guidance and ongoing feedback.
* Participate in interviews and the selection of production employees.
* Conduct employee feedback and performance discussions in coordination with the Production Manager.
* Support the Production Manager in addressing employee-related and performance issues.
* Ensure employees follow production procedures, quality standards, engineering instructions and safety requirements.
* Identify production issues, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities and work with the Production Manager to address them.
* Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Planning and other cross-functional teams to resolve production-related issues.
* Support the implementation of process changes and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities such as 6S and Kaizen.
* Provide regular updates to the Production Manager regarding production activities, employee matters and operational issues.
* Act as the Production Manager's backup when required.

Requirements: Requirements At least 2 years of experience in a production leadership or management role. Experience in electronics manufacturing.
* Experience managing, guiding and supporting production employees.
* Experience conducting employee interviews, onboarding and employee feedback conversations.
* Experience training and mentoring employees.
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
* Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Hands-on approach and willingness to work closely with employees on the production floor.
* Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
* Good organizational and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently while working closely with the Production Manager and cross-functional teams.
* English - good written and verbal communication skills.
