we are looking for a Aerodynamics Engineer.
What you'll own:
Own aerodynamic design and analysis of vehicle-level configurations, trading lift-system efficiency directly against acoustic source strength across all phases of flight.
Build and run high-fidelity CFD campaigns - steady RANS for performance maps, unsteady and scale-resolving simulations where acoustic source prediction demands it - with documented mesh and turbulence-model sensitivity studies.
Couple aerodynamic predictions to acoustic propagation models, working with the Acoustics team to trace far-field noise back to specific unsteady flow mechanisms on the vehicle.
Plan and execute wind tunnel test campaigns end to end: model definition, instrumentation plans, test matrices, on-site execution, and post-test correlation against CFD predictions.
Develop and maintain the vehicle aerodynamic database - polars, control derivatives, and interactional effects - feeding flight dynamics, performance, and loads analyses.
Correlate predictions against flight test data, drive down model uncertainty, and publish updated aero models with quantified validation status.
Present design trades and analysis results at internal design reviews, defending recommendations with data when performance and noise pull in opposite directions.
Define aerodynamic requirements and acceptance criteria for vehicle hardware, and review geometry releases for compliance with the validated aero lines.

What you'll own:
Design composite primary and secondary structure - laminate definitions, ply schedules, core selections, bonded and bolted joints - from concept layout through released engineering definition.
Build, run, and own detailed FEA models for static strength, buckling, and structural dynamics, and keep them correlated against coupon, element, and full-scale test evidence.
Drive vibro-acoustic behavior of the airframe: characterize panel modal density, radiation efficiency, and structure-borne transmission paths, and turn stiffness and damping into deliberate acoustic design levers.
Define and execute structural test campaigns - building-block coupon and element tests, modal surveys and ground vibration tests - including instrumentation plans, test readiness reviews, and post-test model correlation.
Develop material allowables and laminate design values with materials and process engineers, and document the basis for every margin you claim.
Write structural substantiation reports with traceable loads, methods, and margins of safety that will stand up to a certification authority, not just an internal review.
Trade mass against transmission loss and damping treatments directly with the Acoustics team, and defend the structural side of those trades at vehicle-level design reviews.
Support the build: assess layup and tooling feasibility, review first articles, and disposition manufacturing discrepancies on flight hardware.

What you'll own:
Design and analyze motor electromagnetics with torque ripple, cogging torque, and radial force harmonics treated as hard requirements alongside efficiency and power density.
Develop inverter modulation and current-control strategies - including harmonic injection and active ripple compensation - that suppress electromagnetic excitation before it becomes radiated tone.
Build and validate multiphysics models chaining electromagnetic force prediction through structural transfer paths to radiated noise, correlated against dyno and vehicle data.
Plan and execute dyno test campaigns with synchronized electrical, vibration, and acoustic instrumentation, owning the data pipeline from raw capture to engineering verdict.
Integrate motors, inverters, and mounts into the vehicle's novel lift and propulsion architecture, working structure-borne transmission paths jointly with the Structures and Acoustics teams.
Characterize thermal behavior on the dyno and derive continuous and peak torque envelopes that hold across the full flight profile.
Define acceptance and qualification test procedures for propulsion units, including back-EMF, efficiency-map, vibration, and acoustic signature checks.
Lead propulsion design reviews and hardware failure investigations, driving root cause to closure with documented corrective actions.

Quantify community-noise exposure using EPNL, SEL, dBA, and tonality-corrected metrics, and translate the results into hard, testable requirements for design teams.
Build psychoacoustic models - loudness, sharpness, tonality, fluctuation strength - and run jury listening studies that connect physical metrics to human annoyance.
Run aeroacoustic simulations coupling CFD to acoustic analogy solvers (FW-H or equivalent), and reconcile predictions against measured data every design cycle.
Define and defend the vehicle noise budget at design reviews, allocating margins across subsystems and flagging acoustic risk before hardware is built.
Author measurement procedures, test reports, and model validation documents rigorous enough to anchor future certification arguments.
