We are looking for a highly technical, hands-on Platform Backend Engineer to join our Platform team.
This is a key technical leadership role for a senior backend/platform engineer who combines deep platform expertise with strong collaboration and communication skills. You will help shape the foundations of our engineering platform, lead important technical initiatives, and drive improvements in the way we build, deliver, and operate software.

Responsibilities:
Lead the design and evolution of core platform capabilities by translating business, product, and customer needs into robust technical solutions that support multiple products and teams
Harness AI in day-to-day engineering work through practical adoption of AI-assisted development tools and workflows, while helping shape platform capabilities that support product-facing agentic applications
Bring a strong problem-solving mindset to complex platform challenges, proactively identifying gaps and driving improvements across architecture, infrastructure, reliability, observability, security, and SaaS readiness
Drive meaningful improvements in SDLC, engineering standards, and development processes to support high-quality and fast delivery
Act as a technical leader by setting direction, creating alignment, mentoring others, and raising the bar for technical excellence and accountability.

What You'll Do:
Design and build secure AI infrastructure for production AI agents.
Develop Agent Control Plane capabilities that manage, monitor, and secure agent execution.
Build embedded controls and security mechanisms directly into AI agents.
Develop reusable services, APIs, and developer tooling that support AI applications.
Build and maintain integrations with modern Agent SDKs and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Design backend microservices using Python and AWS.
Build observability into AI systems, including telemetry, monitoring, tracing, and operational visibility.
Develop public-facing developer tools and command-line interfaces (CLI).
Partner closely with AI researchers to rapidly transition prototypes into production-ready systems.
Own projects from architecture through deployment.
Help define engineering standards and reusable patterns across the AI platform.
Collaborate with senior engineers while independently leading technical initiatives when appropriate.

As a Senior Backend Engineer in the Routing team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling the backend systems that power our companys core products. Youll work on high-impact, distributed services that manage geospatial data, large-scale databases, real-time events, and mission-critical workflows used across multiple teams and regions. Your work will directly influence system reliability, performance, and developer productivity at scale.
You will collaborate closely with Product, Infrastructure, Data, and other engineering teams to define system boundaries, evolve shared services, and ensure our backend platform can support rapid product growth. You will be part of a highly skilled and motivated engineering group responsible for building robust, scalable, and maintainable backend systems that operate in real time and at high load.
What Youll Do:
Design, build, and scale backend systems and data pipelines that power our companys GIS and mapping platform, from initial design through production deployment and long-term ownership.
Own features end-to-end with strong accountability, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
Develop and maintain Python-based data pipelines that ingest, process, and transform large-scale OpenStreetMap (OSM) and other geospatial datasets.
Model, store, and query complex geospatial data using PostgreSQL and PostGIS, including road topology, zones, polygons, points, and other business-critical spatial entities.
Optimize database schemas, spatial indexes, and queries to efficiently handle large datasets and high-throughput workloads.
Build and maintain backend services and APIs that expose geospatial and mapping data to other backend services, frontend applications, and data consumers.
Collaborate closely with other backend teams, frontend teams, data teams, and infrastructure to align on data contracts, system boundaries, and cross-team initiatives.
Improve system reliability, observability, and performance through monitoring, alerting, benchmarking, and continuous optimization.
Contribute to architectural decisions, technical standards, and best practices, while mentoring other engineers and raising the overall engineering bar.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the core backend team and own foundational services used across the platform. The role is focused on production-grade backend engineering, distributed systems, APIs, reliability, and clean, maintainable design.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and own backend services from design to production.

Work on domains such as policy flows, identity/authentication, tenant and license management, client/agent services, MCP protection, analyzers, and business-logic services.
Design reliable flows for service-to-service communication, caching, background processing, data persistence, and multi-region production environments.
