As a Mechanical Engineering Product Lead, you will be responsible for leading the transition of new hardware products from the design and development phase to successful mass production. You will be a key technical point of contact, managing New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and collaborating closely with various teams to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing.
Main Responsibilities:
Lead and manage New Product Introduction (NPI) activities for new hardware products, overseeing the entire process from design to mass production.
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, creating detailed engineering and manufacturing documentation.
Manage the design and manufacturing of mechanical components made from plastic and metal, working directly with CMs locally and abroad.
Lead the design, validation, and certification of product packaging.
Act as a technical focal point, collaborating with R&D, production, quality assurance, and supply chain teams.
Support the design and manufacturing of jigs and fixtures for the production line.
Lead the manufacturing and DFx and FAI processes for mechanical parts, PCBs, and PCBAs.
Support the assembly of mechanical prototypes.
Requirements: Required Skills & Qualifications:
B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical field.
At least 5 years of stable experience in a similar role at a dynamic startup company - MUST.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks- Mandatory) and creating technical engineering documentation.
Experience with NPI processes, PLM and ERP systems.
Experience in a high-tech company with in-house manufacturing.
Proven ability to write assembly and test instructions.
Deep knowledge of production processes, (QMS) and work on a production line.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage long-term projects and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
The ability to read and write high-level technical documents and communicate in English.
A highly motivated individual with the ability to drive progress and solve problems on the production line.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
Additional Qualifications:
Familiarity with the manufacturing of PCBs and PCBAs, including DFx processes.
Familiarity with multidisciplinary systems.
Previous experience as a Mechanical NPI Engineer on a production line.
Willingness to travel to Contract Manufacturer sites abroad as required.
