We are looking for an experienced Automation Developer to join our QA Automation Team, responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of Pontera's products.

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain automated tests and infrastructure to support our testing efforts. As part of a dynamic squad, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional team members, driving innovation, solving complex challenges, and delivering impactful solutions.



RESPONSIBILITIES:



Design, develop, and extend automation tests and infrastructure for both UI and API using Python, Pytest, and Playwright.
Mentor other QA automation developers by conducting code reviews and providing technical guidance on key features.
Take ownership of new features, ensuring full automation coverage from the design stage to multiple test environments (staging, CI/CD, production, etc.).
Analyze test results, troubleshoot, and debug failures to provide fast feedback on tested versions.
Work closely with QA engineers, developers, and product managers to define and develop automated tests, building a stable and scalable automation platform.
Continuously reduce manual testing efforts by enhancing automation coverage.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts to ensure product reliability.
Take full ownership of the testing lifecycle, from test planning and execution to analyzing results and ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to identify quality risks and gaps, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
Monitor, investigate, and drive resolution of failures and anomalies in automated tests and production environments.
Continuously improve test strategies, frameworks, and processes to optimize efficiency, speed, and test coverage.
Provide clear, actionable feedback to development teams on product quality and potential improvements.
Document testing processes, plans, and guidelines clearly for knowledge sharing across the team.

Your Impact & Responsibilities:
* API Testing (Primary Focus): Perform extensive REST API testing, covering sanity, regression, functionality, and load testing to ensure system reliability and performance, including writing and maintaining Postman test collections for automated regression testing.
* Manual Testing: Conduct manual testing of backend systems and dashboards, and ensure reliability of client/server integrations.
* Defect Investigation & Root Cause Analysis: Analyze logs, API responses, and database records to investigate issues, ensuring a quick and precise resolution of issues.
* Post-Production Verification: While deployments are executed by developers, you will be responsible for ensuring that post-production testing runs smoothly, identifying any potential issues after releases.
* Process Analysis & Business Understanding: Be a key partner in analyzing, understanding, and defining business processes and workflows, identifying potential gaps, and ensuring smooth system operations.
* Test Documentation & Process Improvement: Maintain structured test cases and documentation in TestRail and Jira, continuously improving testing strategies.
* Cloud-Oriented Environments: Work within a cloud-based infrastructure, performing testing in AWS-powered environments and ensuring smooth backend operations.
* Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and business teams to align quality assurance efforts with business objectives.
