The point-of-sale (POS) solution consists of devices deployed at our customers locations that interact with cloud-based services. With over 30,000 customers across the US, our company seeks a dedicated resource focused design, configuration, scalability, and performance tuning of the Postgres RDS instances that are core to our cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Move large database to new AWS account
Split database into acorn and regular ops.
Further splitting by function, as needed, including choosing alternative dbs
Performance evaluation of current db
Review/coord with devs about errors/warnings in logs
Continuing performance monitoring/tuning/optimization
Improve existing queries
Perform reviews of new queries
Manage users/roles/permissions/access
Create a Load Testing framework
Schema review/design/management/change management
Requirements: Required Skills/Experience:
Responsibility for a large AWS RDS PostgreSQL database. Expectation is for experience with tasks such as:
Advanced knowledge of SQL for querying, optimization, and troubleshooting new partitions/triggers/seq etc
Upgrade planning and execution
Monitoring and alerts
Capacity planning
data archiving/migrations/import/export/etc
Database backup/recovery
Database documentation
Reporting and analytics support
Security management
Automate maintenance tasks (audit,fixes,reindexing,etc)
Disaster recovery planning
Cost management
Native Level English
Hybrid in Jerusalem
Full time position 11:00-19:00
