We are seeking a Component Engineering & Technical Purchasing Expert to lead the technical selection, qualification, and procurement of electronic and mechanical components for our hardware platforms. This role combines component engineering expertise with ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings, ensuring component availability, cost optimization, quality, and long-term supply continuity throughout the product lifecycle.
Key job responsibilities
Component Engineering & Qualification
Own the technical selection, qualification, and approval of electronic components, including active, passive, electromechanical and mechanical parts
Define component specifications.
Lead component risk assessments, obsolescence management, and last-time-buy planning
Support new product (NPI) activities, while working closely with hardware system to ensure compliance with project requirements and timelines.
Technical Purchasing & Supplier Management
Lead technical purchasing activities for electronic and mechanical components, aligning engineering requirements with supply chain and cost targets.
Build and manage relationships with component manufacturers, authorized distributors, and strategic suppliers
Act as the primary point of contact for technical and commercial discussions with key suppliers
Drive supplier performance management, including delivery, quality, responsiveness, and technical support
Data, Systems & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Develop KPIs and dashboards to track component cost, availability, quality, and lifecycle status
Create and maintain documentation for components database, piecing and substitutes qualification.
Collaborate cross-functionally with various teams to support business objectives.
Requirements: - Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience in HW design.
- Experience in leading and/or supporting multidisciplinary projects including HW, SW and mechanics (benefit)
- Strong understanding of electronic components and component qualification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with PLM, ERP, and component lifecycle management systems
- Knowledge of electronics manufacturing, reliability standards, and industry compliance requirements
- Experience in leading and/or supporting multidisciplinary projects including HW, SW and mechanics
- Experience in component engineering, technical purchasing, or a combined engineering-supply chain role
- Experience in problem-solving, and driving process improvement initiatives.
