About The Role:
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Engine team, you will be building our core offering - our database engine. You will take part in the entire development cycle - designing database components, implementing them, and running them in production. You will be building a highly complex distributed system that runs on multiple cloud providers, where high performance and large scale matter the most. As we all have a high sense of ownership, you will also be a generalist, work directly with customers, and mentor other engineers.

You will help lead our Infrastructure, SRE, CI/CD, Security, and Scale/Performance efforts. You will take a leading role in defining and designing these systems, all to enable our Fullstack and Data teams to be as independent and successful as possible. At Tailor Brands, the Platform team doesn't manage all of our services on their own – they build the tools and guidance so our Development teams can own them end-to-end.
* Take an active role in the senior platform engineer engineering team that focuses on all aspects of CI/CD infrastructure, GitOps full automation, and operational metrics to ensure the highest productivity for our Cloud engineering infrastructure
* Lead the design and delivery of software and infrastructure to improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our services.
* Design, develop, and maintain our core platform and CI/CD infrastructure and our development environments
* Manage cloud security principles and define best practices
* Build, configure, and tune highly available and fault-tolerant Container Clusters and K8s infrastructures
* Take an active role in defining the team’s roadmap
* Develop automation to support our orchestration and application deployment

Your Impact

This candidate will be part of a Global DevOps/ SRE team who will play a significant role in the definition and implementation of the GCP, Docker and Kubernetes platform strategy, HA/ DR, including architecture, design, roadmaps, and enabling various apps to adopt such technologies
Working in a collaborative culture with Dev and App owners in an agile methodology, scrums
Handling scrums to achieve the desired product objective by working with US/India counterparts and local Dev Teams
Part of the job also includes resolving JIRA tickets in the areas of Cloud, CICD, deployments, monitoring etc.
Willingness to challenge the status quo to bring new ideas and innovation to the team
Responsible for ongoing maintenance and support of internal tools, improving system health and reliability
Document and provide cross-training to peers for projects and products worked on
OnCall rotations, but no shifts
Ensure service uptimes to maintain the SLA-driven uptime

What youll do:

As a Senior Software Engineer, youll play a critical role in designing scalable and reliable systems that meet the operational requirements of our B2B organization.
Work on reliability for our top enterprise solutions
Leverage your understanding of the systems we use to assist in resolving production issues in real time
