Required Senior Wi-Fi MAC Expert
Job Description:
As a Senior Wi-Fi MAC expert, you will be a member of the Tel-Aviv Research Center (TRC) Wi-Fi Group, responsible for:
Working as part of a global standardization team, participating in standard meetings and contributing to the development of next generation Wi-Fi standards
Developing and simulating innovative Wi-Fi MAC features, protocols and algorithms in ns-3, focused on optimizing Wi-Fi KPIs such as throughput & latency under various use cases, and carrying out simulation data analysis
Collaborating with internal research teams, initiating and leading innovative technical solutions & contributing to the development of novel Wi-Fi MAC features, algorithms and intellectual property
Collaborating with international product development teams in order to bring new features and algorithms into the end product & analyzing trade-offs between KPI benefits vs. design and architecture impact and complexity.
Requirements: Mandatory:
6+ years of experience as a software or system engineer in the field of Wi-Fi
B.Sc./M.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related field
System view and profound understanding of 802.11 protocol and Wi-Fi MAC layer
Hands-on C & C++ experience
Team player with good interpersonal and communications skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Advantage:
Hands-on Python experience
Experience in Linux based development environment
Knowledge or experience with network simulation tools (ns-3, OPNET Modeler etc.)
Experience with design / development of 802.11 performance oriented algorithms (e.g. high throughput, low latency, low jitter, rate selection)
Good understanding of 802.11 PHY and MAC/PHY interfaces
Good understanding and experience with IP and IP protocols (TCP, UDP, QUIC etc.).
