We are looking for a talented and experienced AI Backend Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team. This is a hybrid role, reporting to the Group Manager, Director, Software Engineering in the Engineering Department. Avalor curates and contextualizes data from hundreds of security and business tools to help companies understand and address their riskiest problems. If you're passionate about data and helping companies improve their security posture, youll play a critical role in driving innovation within the AI space by leveraging cutting-edge backend technologies.
What youll do (Role Expectations):
Lead and drive innovative projects within the AI domain, leveraging fabric capabilities to enhance and accelerate our products offerings
Develop our agentic fabric framework and implement the agentic fabric framework across the platform
Identify opportunities to address complex technical challenges and improve existing systems
Own the end-to-end delivery of projects, from proof-of-concept (POC) to full-scale production deployment
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually enhance our technology stack and processes.

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Research to lead, shape, and advance the future of AI innovation across the organization. In this role, you will own the research strategy end-to-end - from long-term roadmap design to hands-on exploration, and guide a multidisciplinary team of NLP research engineers and linguists toward breakthroughs that elevate our core medical coding engine.
You will play a key role in the company, balancing exploratory research with high-impact product delivery. You will partner with Product, Engineering, and executive stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities, drive prioritization, and translate research capabilities into real-world outcomes at scale.
Responsibilities:
Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary research team while driving both technical excellence and personal growth.
Define the long-term research roadmap aligned with product and business objectives.
Lead the full research lifecycle, from ideation and feasibility studies to experimentation, evaluation methods, and production-ready delivery.
Evaluate and introduce new research capabilities and emerging trends such as LLM-based reasoning, semantic/graph modeling, hybrid rule-learning, and other frontier techniques.
Continuously track scientific trends to maintain a state-of-the-art research practice.
Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to translate domain challenges into algorithmic solutions with measurable product impact.
Represent the Research function at leadership forums, communicate priorities and outcomes, and align stakeholders around research strategies and milestones.

What will you do:

* Drive innovation by combining deep security research with modern AI techniques to build impactful, customer-facing security capabilities.
* Build and refine intelligent generative AI agents that drive automated cybersecurity reasoning, investigation workflows, and threat analysis.
* Extend and enhance our next-generation AI antivirus engine by designing new feature representations, building file parsers, and developing ML models end-to-end.
* Engineer and implement core parser and model components in C++ and Python to seamlessly integrate into the Cynet Endpoint Agent and platform infrastructure.
* Use Cynet’s ML experimentation pipelines to run experiments, optimize performance, and deliver production-ready detection models.
* Serve as the cybersecurity expert within the Data Science team, guiding threat modeling, malware understanding, and security-driven AI design decisions.

What We Are Looking For As a GenAI Security Team Lead, you will lead a team of GenAI researchers, combining both strategic and hands-on, big-picture planning with direct technical contributions. Your primary responsibility will be managing a GenAI-focused team, while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence, providing comprehensive training, guidance, and leadership while ensuring high-quality deliverables. The objective is to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and deliver actionable insights that strengthen AI models and guardrails against potential threats. Key Responsibilities

* Assess the security posture of AI models and infrastructure, identifying weaknesses and potential threats.
