GrowDirector builds wireless, modular, plug-and-play greenhouse automation controllers. Connecting sensors, wireless controllers, actuators, pumps, and lighting into one platform that helps growers manage climate, irrigation, and fertigation with less manual work and fewer mistakes. This is Full-Stack physical IoT: hardware deployed in real field conditions, with direct customer impact.
We're looking for an IoT Firmware Developer to design and maintain firmware for our ESP32-based controllers. You'll work closely with hardware, backend, and product teams to ship reliable code that runs on devices deployed in active greenhouses, not TEST benches.
Requirements: What you'll do
Design, build, and maintain firmware for ESP32-based microcontrollers
Implement IoT communication protocols (HTTP, MQTT over TCP/UDP)
Optimize firmware for performance, reliability, memory usage, and power efficiency
Own code quality through Git workflows, code reviews, and documentation
Extend and improve existing codebases as the product evolves
Collaborate cross-functionally on architecture decisions for new controllers, sensor integrations, and connectivity
What you bring
Strong C / C ++ skills and hands-on ESP32 (or similar microcontroller) experience
Practical knowledge of HTTP/MQTT and Embedded networking
Comfort with Git, PlatformIO or Arduino IDE, and reading unfamiliar codebases
Sharp analytical instincts and attention to detail
Strong communicator who works well across disciplines
Nice to have
FreeRTOS or other RTOS experience
