What youll be doing:
As our new Senior Software Engineer, youll be joining the Platform group. This group of highly-experienced and detail-oriented engineers proudly owns the network stack, storage stack, task scheduling infrastructure and more.
As a Senior Software Engineer, youll:
Play an active role in creating jaw-dropping designs, writing impressively efficient code, and conducting collaborative code review;
Share fresh ideas and architectural guidance for our core areas of distributed computing, high-performance storage, and cloud computing; and
Challenge our benchmarks with performance testing around IO and storage throughput.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be an integral part of our Platform Group-a hands-on team of seasoned engineers responsible for building and optimizing the critical low-level components that power our infrastructure. This includes the networking stack, storage systems, task scheduling framework, and other foundational systems.
As a Senior Software Engineer, youll:

What you'll be doing:
The filesystem group is a high-powered team responsible for implementing algorithms at scales of 100s of PBs. The team also manages the core filesystem components, including blocks and metadata management, snapshots, RAID logic, object-store tiering, unique cloud disaster recovery features, and more. And most importantly, they skillfully handle the most delicate part of the solution - our customers data.
As a Senior Software Engineer, youll:
Design and develop distributed file system components to support data management features such as snapshots, replication, tiering, and advanced data reduction algorithms;
Participate in the design, architecture, and implementation of next-generation storage architecture;
Assist in technically managing initial storage implementations including proofs-of-concept;
Diagnose bottlenecks and implement clean and performant solutions to achieve unbeatable performance;
Design algorithms and data structures to make sure customer data is safe and coherent across our solution in a wide variety of failure modes; and
Constantly revisit the architecture, algorithms, and methodologies to improve productivity, reliability, and maintainability.

We are looking for an ambitious Team Leader and software engineer for our endpoint core engines platform team.
The team is responsible for advanced technologies across all our supported platforms - Mac, Linux, Windows and also owns our agent build and infrastructure.
This team delivers effective business logic, enhancements for the engines in our system, and infrastructure code that implements our long term architecture on the agent.
In This Position You Will:
Manage a team of C++ engineers that own our core technologies in the endpoint agent
Own high-performance and critical-path code for sensitive engines in production under Linux, Mac and Windows
Deliver high quality code and results on requirements provided by product management and the field
Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders across the organization (R&D, Support, Operations, product, etc.)
Participate in customer and support calls as the technical authority
Get familiar with real customer challenges and gain a deep understanding of the balance between delivery velocity, security value and performance
Work in agile and scrum methodologies and conduct sprint ceremonies: daily meetings, planning, retrospective and demos.
Conduct performance review to the team members and recruit new team members.

ou'll be joining the core engine team as a Senior/Principal Engineer, responsible for the technology that processes dozens of petabytes daily across hundreds of services and Azure's Top 100 enterprise customers.
Our engine is the foundation for critical products including Azure Data Explorer, Fabric's Real-Time Intelligence, Azure Log Analytics, and Defender for Cloud. It enables internal observability for hundreds of services and delivers lightning-fast analytics for organizations worldwide.
As a Senior/Principal Engineer on this team, you'll lead projects that advance the core Kusto engine by driving new capabilities, optimizing distributed query execution, enhancing ingestion, and solving complex engineering challenges in performance and scalability at petabyte scale.
Responsibilities:
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to determine customer requirements, gather feedback, and ensure the engine meets their needs
Own and lead architectural discussions for complex aspects of projects within the Kusto engine and drive dependency identification and the design
Collaborate with partner teams across to ensure integration, testing, scalability, performance standards, and live-site coverage
Design and spearhead implementation of key projects in the Kusto engine core, from conception through delivery
Enhance existing engine components for even better performance, scalability, and maintainability
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, guiding them to produce maintainable, secure, performant code and establish test strategies that ensure quality
Lead collaboration with geographically distributed teams across and cross-functional disciplines
