Principle duties and responsibilities
Design, implementation, and maintenance of embedded software components both for ARM and x86.
Design and development of hardware device drivers.
Participate in new products integrations and bring ups
Learn and Implementation of industry standard and proprietary product features
Embedded system debugging and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with technical support to resolve issues
Work with documentation team to assist on feature documentation
Supplementary Tasks:
Demonstrated ability to complete the full product design life cycle on a portion of the system involving multiple components.
Capable of working independently on the assigned design activities with minimal supervision.
Comprehensive understanding of the product architecture, design, processes, tools, etc. required to perform their assigned design activities.
Operating at the equivalent of an engineer with 2 plus years of relevant experience.
Learn new features, train other engineers
Requirements: B.S.c. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
Solid understanding of Operating Systems, inter-process communications and multi-threaded programs.
Experience of 1-2 years in C, C++.
Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience with Embedded Linux user space software development an advantage.
Any experience with virtual network functions and OpenStack an advantage.
Experience with Git - an advantage.
Proficient in Object Oriented Design methodology an advantage.
Networking: solid understanding of data communications with an emphasis on Ethernet Tecnologies- Optional.
Ability to read and understand device datasheets
Willingness to work closely with geographically dispersed engineering teams
Familiar with iterative development processes such as Agile/Scrum - Optional
