We are seeking a Platform Engineering Group Lead to strengthen our platform and operational engineering capabilities and ensure the company has a secure, reliable, and scalable foundation for product delivery and operations. This role drives execution, raises engineering standards, and improves consistency across deployment, infrastructure, and operational practices in support of product delivery, customer environments, and internal platforms. The role partners closely with R&D, QA, IT stakeholders, and PS/CS to enable consistent deployments through standards, reference architectures, and high-quality installation documentation.



Your key responsibilities will be:

Lead the Platform Engineering group, including people leadership, prioritization, execution management, and cross-functional coordination, and establish an effective operating cadence for a small, high-impact organization.
Build scalable operating models, ownership boundaries, and execution discipline across platform, deployment, and operational engineering activities.
Drive automation and deployment engineering outcomes across CI/CD, release readiness, environment provisioning, and delivery tooling, with a strong focus on reducing manual steps and operational risk.
Own deployment readiness across internal and customer-facing environments, including staging deployments, validation steps, installation packages, and deployment runbooks, to support consistent and repeatable implementations.
Ensure effective internal infrastructure and workplace technology operations, including service levels, escalation paths, operational hygiene, endpoint lifecycle, backups, and core office/server-room infrastructure.
Drive security and compliance readiness within the groups scope, including operational controls implementation, remediation tracking, evidence discipline, and coordination with external cybersecurity partners and internal security stakeholders.
Establish engineering standards and technical guardrails across infrastructure-as-code, change management, observability, access controls, and backup/restore verification.
Lead incident management across platform, infrastructure, and internal technology services, including issue assessment, prioritization, escalation, incident reviews, and corrective actions to improve reliability over time.
Define and improve deployment patterns, reference architectures, and environment recommendations based on customer constraints and operational requirements to support successful PS/CS engagements.

What Youll Do
Strategic Infrastructure Initiatives
Drive Self-Managed Platform (SMP) and Bring Your Own Cluster (BYOC) initiatives-partner with Core Infrastructure team to enable large enterprises to run our company entirely within their private cloud with full control and zero our company access
Own Bring Your Own Network (BYON) deployment models-work with DevOps and networking teams to allow customers complete control over network architecture while maintaining operational excellence
Lead product readiness for FedRAMP certification-collaborate with Security, Compliance, and R&D teams to adapt the product for federal security controls and enable government sales
Build the roadmap for customer-controlled infrastructure across regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, defense)-working with all product teams to ensure deployment flexibility doesn't compromise feature velocity
Cross-Functional Leadership
Build and maintain the platform roadmap in collaboration with the Core engineering team, DevOps, and Security teams
Work across all product teams to collect and prioritize infrastructure requirements, ensuring the platform enables feature teams to deliver value
Partner with GTM teams (Sales, Sales Engineering, Customer Success) to understand customer deployment requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Collaborate with Compliance and Legal teams on certification requirements (FedRAMP, SOC2, ISO 27001) and their product implications
Product Strategy & Execution
Define product requirements for complex infrastructure initiatives involving networking, security, deployment automation, and version management
Manage quarterly (Q) planning cycles for infrastructure initiatives, balancing strategic projects with operational needs
Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture decision records, and customer-facing deployment guides
Drive continuous improvement in deployment efficiency, reducing time-to-value for customers with complex infrastructure requirements
Customer & Market Focus
Engage directly with strategic customers to understand their infrastructure constraints and security requirements
Support pre-sales activities for deals requiring custom deployment architectures or compliance attestations
Monitor competitive landscape and industry trends in enterprise security infrastructure and compliance
Track and analyze infrastructure metrics that impact customer success and our operational efficiency.
