You will be leading the Compliance Engineering Squad, the technological "Guardians" of the company. We dont just write code; we build the safety net that allows our business to run fast and launch new products safely. We operate as a hybrid squad, blending robust Backend engineering with advanced Data Engineering. As the Team Lead, you will guide this multidisciplinary group in solving complex business challenges.

Core: Kotlin, Python, and Java atop a Modulith architecture.
Data & Scale: Snowflake, Airflow, Spark, and DBT for high-volume data processing.

What Youll Do:
As the Team Lead, you will manage a high-impact squad dedicated to ensuring our compliance with critical processes and data integrity. Your role is central to driving quality, scalability, and accountability in processes such as compliance audits, credit bureau furnishing, and legal automation. You'll own significant parts of the new platform architecture, working closely with our BE Engineers and Data Engineers. Including designing, building, and shipping core systems that power how Sunbit manages accounts, balances, settlements, and financial history.

Design and build core backend services for loan lifecycle management - creation, updates, balances, adjustments, and reconciliation.

We manage the entire customer lifecycle, from the initial application and card ordering process to automated account management, including collections, credit limit adjustments, and monthly statements. Our team develops and maintains the platforms that allow over 300,000 customers (a number that has nearly doubled in the last year) to manage their accounts, update personal details, make payments, and view their transaction history. We support both direct-to-consumer cards and co-branded cards for our strategic partners, making a direct impact on the company's growth and our customers' financial lives.

Responsibilities
Design and build data solutions that support our Credit Card and Servicing business goals.
Develop advanced data pipelines to support the infrastructure, architecture and the product growth initiatives.
Create ETL/ELT processes and SQL queries to bring data to the data warehouse and other data sources.
Own and evolve data lake pipelines, maintenance, schema management, and improvements.
Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Backend Engineering, and Data Science to align technical work with business outcomes.
Implement new tools and modern development approaches that improve both scalability and business agility.
Ensure adherence to coding best practices and development of reusable code.
Constantly monitor the data platform and make recommendations to enhance architecture, performance, and cost efficiency.
