Were launching a new AI team at our company to build AI-first products and foundational platform capabilities from the ground up. This is a founding engineering role in our Tel Aviv office, with ownership and influence from day one.
Youll design and build foundational systems that power the next generation of our companys platform, working on high-impact, customer-facing products and helping set the technical bar for the team.
What youll do:
Own features end to end - take ideas from early concept through production. You wont just write code, youll ship real products, iterate quickly, and see the impact of your work with customers.
Think beyond the task -Take initiative, understand the broader context, and help drive product and technical decisions. This is not a ticket-driven role.
Build AI-powered systems- Use AI where it meaningfully improves product quality, development velocity, or user experience, both in what we ship and how we build.
Backend-focused, full-stack mindset- Your core focus will be backend systems, but youre comfortable working across APIs, data, infrastructure, and DevOps when needed.
Design for scale - Build backend services that are reliable, maintainable, and designed to grow with the platform.

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to own core infrastructure that powers our platform - from the pipelines that move and process data at scale, to the systems that keep our engineering org shipping fast and reliably. This is a technical leadership role: you'll set architecture direction, raise the bar on engineering practices, and mentor other engineers, while staying deeply hands-on.
You'll operate in an organization that expects AI-native ways of working. Using tools like Claude, Cursor, Hermes or LangGraphor isn't a bonus here - it's the baseline for how we build, and we expect you to help the rest of the team level up on it too.
What Youll be Doing:
Own core backend infrastructure - design and build scalable, reliable Node.js/TypeScript/Python/Go services that other teams and systems depend on.
Build and scale data pipelines - architect the infrastructure that processes and moves large volumes of data reliably, efficiently, and at scale.
Elevate test & validation infrastructure - build the automation, tooling, and CI/CD systems that let engineering ship fast without breaking things, and that make quality and reliability measurable.
Set technical direction - make architecture decisions with company-wide impact, drive design reviews, and establish engineering standards and best practices.
Mentor and multiply - level up other engineers technically, and help shape a fast, high-ownership engineering culture as the team grows.
Lead with AI-native workflows - use AI-assisted development tools daily to move faster without sacrificing architectural quality, and champion their adoption across the team.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Cortex Platform Application team, you will be a hands-on technical leader responsible for designing, building, and operating critical backend platform services used across Cortex. This role is for an engineer who can combine deep platform/backend expertise with strong ownership, practical execution, and cross-team influence. You will help build scalable and reliable services, guide technical decisions, improve engineering methods, mentor engineers, and raise the quality of how the team designs, ships, documents, tests, and operates its systems. The team owns a broad set of platform capabilities, including areas such as application configuration, dashboards and reporting infrastructure, metrics, multi-tenant and MSSP infrastructure, log forwarding, notifications, auditing, access and permission engines, filtering and querying infrastructure, and other shared application platform domains. We are looking for someone who is not only strong technically, but also enjoys joining a high-performing team, taking ownership from within, and helping turn strong execution into repeatable engineering practice. A successful candidate will quickly become a trusted part of the team by shipping meaningful work, learning the team's domains, and helping others move faster. Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and operate scalable, reliable, and secure backend services for the Cortex Platform.
Act as a hands-on technical leader, writing and reviewing production code for critical platform services.
Lead technical design for complex backend and platform domains, balancing long-term architecture with practical delivery.
Own and improve core platform capabilities used by internal engineering teams and Cortex customers.
Drive operational excellence, including observability, monitoring, alerting, incident response, reliability, and participation in on-call.
Improve engineering methods around documentation, testing, design reviews, ownership models, and production readiness.
Mentor senior, mid-level, and junior engineers through design guidance, code reviews, production work, and day-to-day collaboration.
Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, security experts, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
Help internal customers use platform capabilities correctly by creating clarity, alignment, and practical technical guidance.
Identify gaps in systems, processes, and ownership, and lead improvements without adding unnecessary process or friction.

This role involves working within an established team to evolve a high-traffic product, with a focus on refining architecture, optimizing the technology stack, and maintaining engineering standards.
Your responsibilities include writing reliable code, influencing product direction, and designing distributed systems. You will be expected to make technical decisions that impact the long-term stability and performance of cloud workload protection services.
AI Integration & Engineering Workflow
A core component of our development process is the use of AI. Rather than basic code completion, we integrate AI assistants as functional components of our workflow. Our team utilizes a multi-agent AI system (IDEX/ProDex) that assists across the development lifecycle: from planning and architecture to code analysis and security reviews.
In this role, you will:
Work with AI Tools:Utilize platforms such asGemini, Claude, and Cursorfor tasks beyond code generation, including root-cause analysis, system design reviews, and architectural assessment.
Develop AI-Augmented Workflows:Help refine how AI is integrated into the SDLC, including the orchestration of agents and the development of internal tools that extend AI capabilities across our codebase.
Maintain Quality Standards:While AI assists in increasing velocity, you are responsible for the technical output. This includes critical review of all generated code and ensuring that AI-assisted work aligns with our architectural requirements and security benchmarks.

Work on our real-time voice agent, where the hard problems are conversational: interruptions, mid-sentence tool calls, and keeping response times imperceptibly fast
Shape the next generation of our knowledge base - how the agent's knowledge is structured, curated, and served, so answers stay grounded as coverage grows
Ship changes as controlled experiments, measure them against thousands of replayed real conversations on our in-house eval platform, and graduate winners into production
Track cost per conversation across millions of LLM calls and find the wins that cut spend without cutting quality
Own what the model knows and says - the customer context it sees, the limits on what it may reveal, and the guardrails against confident nonsense
