We're looking for a Backend & Deployment team lead to lead one of the most critical domains at Sentra - how our product is deployed, integrated, and operates within our customers' environments.

This is a highly hands-on leadership role, combining deep technical involvement with ownership of the domain and team. You will lead and grow a team of engineers while remaining closely involved in architecture, design, and critical parts of the system.

You will own the deployment domain end-to-end - from infrastructure and backend services to customer experience - and play a key role in shaping how Sentra delivers its product across AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-prem environments.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer-facing delivery, with direct impact on customer success and company growth.

Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Ownership

Lead and grow the Backend & Deployment team, including hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers.
Drive execution, prioritization, and delivery while maintaining high engineering standards.
Foster a strong ownership culture and create clarity in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Take full end-to-end ownership of the deployment domain, including reliability, scalability, and customer experience.
Partner closely with Product, R&D, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success to align priorities and deliver customer value.
Hands-on Technical Leadership

Remain deeply involved in the system - contributing to architecture, design, and critical development efforts.
Lead the design and evolution of deployment architectures across multi-cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-prem environments.
Work hands-on with Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), and backend services.
Drive improvements in scalability, automation, observability, and resilience.
Collaboration & Customer-Facing Work

Act as a technical escalation point for customer deployment and integration issues, working closely with Solutions Engineering and Support.
Collaborate with external-facing teams (Customer Success, Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering) on customer deployments and integrations, including participating in calls or troubleshooting sessions when needed - sometimes during US business hours.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the core backend team and own foundational services used across the platform. Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and own backend services from design to production.
Build secure, scalable APIs and microservices for core platform capabilities.

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Sightline detection engineering team. You will design, build, and operate high-scale, low-latency backend services that score and protect web and API traffic against automated abuse, working at the core of our real-time detection platform.
What youll do:
High-Scale Engineering: Design, build, and maintain distributed, high-throughput backend services processing hundreds of thousands of requests per second with strict tens-of-milliseconds latency targets.
End-to-End Ownership: Own services from architecture and implementation to deployment and reliability. This includes full-stack instrumentation (monitoring, alerting, and tracing) to detect and mitigate production issues.
Product Innovation: Implement and evolve real-time detection and decisioning flows within the Sightline Cyberfraud Defense platform, collaborating with security researchers, data science, and product teams.

Required Senior Backend Engineer- Routing Data

As a Senior Backend Engineer in the Routing team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling the backend systems that power our core products. Youll work on high-impact, distributed services that manage geospatial data, large-scale databases, real-time events, and mission-critical workflows used across multiple teams and regions. Your work will directly influence system reliability, performance, and developer productivity at scale.
You will collaborate closely with Product, Infrastructure, Data, and other engineering teams to define system boundaries, evolve shared services, and ensure our backend platform can support rapid product growth. You will be part of a highly skilled and motivated engineering group responsible for building robust, scalable, and maintainable backend systems that operate in real time and at high load.
What Youll Do:
Design, build, and scale backend systems and data pipelines that power our GIS and mapping platform, from initial design through production deployment and long-term ownership.
Own features end-to-end with strong accountability, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
Develop and maintain Python-based data pipelines that ingest, process, and transform large-scale OpenStreetMap (OSM) and other geospatial datasets.
Model, store, and query complex geospatial data using PostgreSQL and PostGIS, including road topology, zones, polygons, points, and other business-critical spatial entities.
Optimize database schemas, spatial indexes, and queries to efficiently handle large datasets and high-throughput workloads.
