We are seeking an experienced Full-stack Team Leader to lead a high-performing squad within our engine engineering group. In this role, you will be overseeing the development of core platform capabilities. You will be responsible for the professional growth of your developers, the architectural integrity of your teams output, and the successful delivery of complex features across both client-side and server-side systems in a fast-moving environment.

What Will You Do:
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of full-stack engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Oversee the design and implementation of complex features spanning engine logic and backend services, ensuring the team writes robust, scalable, and maintainable code.
Own the end-to-end delivery of features across multiple services; break down high-level product initiatives into clear tasks, manage dependencies, and provide accurate timelines.
Lead architectural decisions and service design, clearly articulating trade-offs and ensuring modules are scalable and align with long-term platform goals.
Act as the escalation point for complex production incidents.
Enforce high standards for testing and monitoring.
Partner closely with Product, QA, and other Engineering Leads to unblock delivery, align on priorities, and ensure shared ownership of the product roadmap.
Strong expertise in the teams core stack (Node.js, Relational/NoSQL databases) with the ability to jump into the code and execute complex implementations when necessary.
Proven ability to design scalable modules and services within a distributed domain context.
Proactively identifies and implements improvements to team processes, deployment strategies, and development tooling.
Ability to lead the team through technical pivots and independently learn/adopt new technologies as the stack evolves.

At least 2 years of experience in a Team Lead role or as a dedicated Lead Engineer directly managing a team's output and professional development.
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Full-stack Developer.
Solid grasp of web fundamentals and extensive experience with Node.js and various database architectures.
Thorough understanding of the Document Object Model (DOM), including event delegation, browser rendering pipelines, and DOM manipulation performance.
Proficiency in CI/CD workflows and familiarity with cloud infrastructure basics.
Deep understanding of performance optimization, secure coding, and modern deployment strategies.
Proven track record of diagnosing complex, cross-stack issues and production incidents.

Advantages:
Hands-on experience managing infrastructure within GCP.
Architectural experience with MongoDB.
Experience with Python - a plus.
Experience working with LLM frameworks - a plus.
Advocacy for web accessibility (WCAG) and responsive design standards (a big plus).

As a Machine Learning Engineering Manager, you will lead a team focused on the foundational ML & Data layers to power the ranking & recommendation systems in scope. You will drive the development of robust data & ML pipelines at scale, lead the implementation of the tools for ML scientists to test and productionize advanced ML RecSys solutions.

As a technical manager of Machine Learning Engineers and Data engineers, you should be passionate about technology, keep up to date with recent breakthroughs in the field, define and shape the teams ML and platforms roadmap, and not be afraid to get your hands dirty with code when needed.

You are expected to be the focal point for all technical aspects, make sure your team members deliver on their tasks, and work together with other stakeholders to define and shape the roadmap of our products. You will work independently and will also be responsible for making technical decisions within your team.

Qualifications & Skills:

3+ years leading an ML engineering team of a minimum of 4 people in a fast-paced production environment.

Relevant work or academic experience (MSc + 5 years of working experience, or PhD + 3 years of working experience), involved in the application of Machine Learning to business problems.

Masters degree, PhD or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Physics, etc.).

Strong knowledge in areas like e.g. Recommender Systems, Deep Learning, Information Retrieval, Causal Inference, scaling ML models, etc.

Experience designing and executing end-to-end solutions for deploying different ML models.

Experience with cloud frameworks like AWS sagemaker for training, evaluation and serving models using TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.

Experience with big data processing frameworks such, Pyspark, Apache Flink, Snowflake or similar frameworks.

Demonstrable experience with MySQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB or similar relational/NoSQL database systems.

Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical models, and data structures.

Experience collaborating cross functionally in the development of machine learning products (e.g. Developers, UX specialists, Product Managers, etc.).

Strong working knowledge of Python, Java, Kafka, Hadoop, SQL, and Spark or similar technologies. Working experience with version control systems.

Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
