Our SW Tool group is seeking a Software Director to lead a 50+ engineer organization delivering complex metrology systems with tight SW/HW/System integration.
The role defines and executes the software strategy for building a high performing organization with respect to product planning & delivery, productivity enhancement, and strong employee engagement, while significantly leveraging AI-assisted development tools and modern software methodologies.
The Software Director serves as a key architectural leader for system design, security, and technology evolution, while ensuring field-grade product quality with near-zero defect expectations.
Responsibilities
What you will be doing:
Lead a 50+ software engineering organization delivering complex metrology systems with tight SW/HW/System integration
Define and execute the end-to-end software strategy across delivery, productivity, quality, and engagement
Serve as a hands-on architectural leader, driving system design, security capabilities, and technology evolution
Drive field-grade product quality with near-zero defect expectations
Accelerate engineering productivity through AI-assisted development and high automation coverage
Recruit, mentor, and develop software managers and engineers, fostering a high-performing culture
Champion an outstanding customer product experience in close partnership with Product Marketing
Establish and evolve software best practices using Agile/Scrum (SAFe) and continuous improvement frameworks
Define, measure, and drive KPIs to increase productivity, quality, and transparency
Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Product, Service, and Program Management.
Requirements: BSc/BA in Computer Science or equivalent
Strong background in C#/.NET as-well as Github Copilot and assimilating AI to increase development productivity
10+ years of software engineering experience, including senior leadership roles
Proven experience leading large, multi-team software organizations
Strong background in complex systems with tight SW/HW integration
Demonstrates architectural leadership and system-level thinking
Experience with Agile methodologies (CSM/CPO - preferably)
Fluent English - written and verbal.
