Required Big Data & GenAI Engineering Lead
As a Big Data & GenAI Engineering Lead within our Data & AI Department, you will play a pivotal role in building the data and AI backbone that empowers product innovation and intelligent business decisions. You will lead the design and implementation of our next-generation lakehouse architecture, real-time data infrastructure, and GenAI-enriched solutions, helping drive automation, insights, and personalization at scale. In this role, you will architect and optimize our modern data platform while also integrating and operationalizing Generative AI models to support go-to-market use cases. Design, lead, and evolve our petabyte-scale Lakehouse and modern data platform to meet performance, scalability, privacy, and extensibility goals.
Architect and implement GenAI-powered data solutions, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), semantic search, and LLM orchestration frameworks tailored to business and developer use cases.
Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to identify and develop AI-first use cases, such as intelligent assistants, code insights, anomaly detection, and generative reporting.
Integrate open-source and commercial LLMs securely into data products using frameworks such as LangChain, or similar, to augment AI capabilities into data products.
Collaborate closely with engineering teams to drive instrumentation, telemetry capture, and high-quality data pipelines that feed both analytics and GenAI applications.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a cross-functional team of data and ML engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices in data and AI engineering.
Lead tool evaluation, architectural PoCs, and decisions on foundational AI/ML tooling (e.g., vector databases, feature stores, orchestration platforms).
Foster platform adoption through enablement resources, shared assets, and developer-facing APIs and SDKs for accessing GenAI capabilities.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about building AI-powered features, improving platform foundations, and experimenting with cutting-edge research and prototypes. Responsibilities

Building & Evolving GenAI Capabilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend infrastructure for AI-powered features (APIs, orchestration, LangChain/RAG pipelines, Agents orchestration and flow design, integrations with LLMs).
Collaborate with Product and Design to deliver AI-driven experiences in the Optibus platform, focusing on intuitive and impactful user interactions.
Explore and prototype new applications of Generative AI that can enhance public transportation planning, scheduling, and operations.
Ensuring Technical Excellence
Establish and promote best practices for AI development, evaluation, and monitoring in production environments.
Mentor and guide developers on the RnD and Product teams in adopting GenAI tools and patterns.
Drive experiments with emerging models, frameworks, and techniques to ensure the platform remains state-of-the-art.
Cross-functional Collaboration

Own and drive GenAI integrations into products, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and other engineering groups to align on requirements and technical feasibility.

Internal Empowerment team
The Internal Empowerment department is the backbone of Teads, aiming at delivering the right tools to drive the efficiency of all our internal teams: Sales, Operations, Finance, Marketing, HR,... whilst ensuring compliance as a public company listed on the NASDAQ.

At the forefront of generative AI utilization to automate the relevant tasks and support strategic decision-making, the internal empowerment teams are transversally involved across all Teads processes and activities.

The department is split in different teams, each having a dedicated product manager and engineering resources, and focusing on a particular area (e.g: Operations, Sales) to ensure going deep and having a real impact. The teams are mapped to the relevant stakeholders representing each functional area and collaborating on a daily basis.
Whilst being autonomous, the different teams of Internal Empowerment are sharing unified ways of working and holistic roadmaps to ensure focus, alignment with the global company strategy, and maximize the overall impact.

What will you do?
As Product Manager, you will own the product lifecycle from strategy to execution. You will be in charge of:

Shape the product roadmap:
Gather and analyze needs from internal stakeholders, including sales teams, traders, finance teams, marketing teams, etc.
Define and communicate a strategic product vision and roadmap priorities, ensuring alignment with stakeholders
Maintain a structured roadmap and communicate updates regularly to manage stakeholder expectations and build momentum
Manage product development & roll-out:
Define product requirements and innovative solution design, balancing complexity and value, and support functional decisions with data-driven analysis as appropriate
Define clear objectives and success metrics for each initiative, monitoring progress and performance
Collaborate closely with engineering to execute the product roadmap strategy and ensure qualitative & on-track delivery.
Collaborate closely with project delivery support teams, e.g., product marketing, to define & execute the go-to-market strategy and maximize product adoption
