About the Role
As a Backend Engineer, youll become a valuable member of an innovative and fast-growing department, working in a truly Agile environment utilizing cutting-edge technologies.
Youll be in charge of planning and developing new features and services, contributing to our code infrastructure, and improving our SaaS architecture for the scale that lies ahead.

The Opportunity We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale mission-critical services and APIs. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain backend architecture for a growing SaaS product.
* Build APIs and background services, including:
* Integrations with external platforms.
* Scraping and analyzing content from the web.
* Integrations with internal machine learning services.
* APIs exposed to external customers at scale. Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance , including monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting.
* Contribute to infrastructure and DevOps practices , including CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and cloud operations.
* Take ownership of features from idea to production, ensuring smooth delivery.
* Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to refine requirements into scalable solutions. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving engineering standards and practices. Qualifications 7+ years of industry experience in backend engineering, including maintaining production web systems. 5+ years of hands-on experience with Python, Node, Go, or Ruby in Linux environments.
* Strong knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases
* Proven experience with AWS (or another major cloud provider)
* Solid background with Docker, Kubernetes, and distributed systems at scale
* Experience with monitoring, logging, and performance optimization
* Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus.
* Ability to write clean, maintainable code and continuously improve existing systems.
* A passion for solving complex problems and delivering customer value.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

What are we looking for?
Our team is responsible for Endpoint Protection services, and covers end-to-end from agent to backend to frontend the following areas:
Building services that process traffic between our Agent (which is responsible for protection across all kinds of OS - Windows, Linux, macOS) and our cloud-based Management console
Developing a big part of backend of this Management console itself (which is in short a large-scale distributed system, a complex "control application" used by IT security teams of S1 clients - that can be seen in many S1 vs. Ransomware demos) and the management of the "fleet" of agents deployed on endpoints in client's environments (backends written in Python and Go and deployed in Kubernetes)
Were a team with a significant impact on how our customers environments are protected, and how they interact with agents. As a core team at S1, we're heavily involved in every end-to-end effort, features development and are key contributors to the design and build of the right architecture of S1's cybersecurity solution to match the scale & hyper-growth of our business.
