The Opportunity We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale mission-critical services and APIs. In this role, you will take full ownership of systems that directly impact the company’s success and reliability. You’ll collaborate closely with data scientists, product managers, and customer success managers in a dynamic, agile environment—helping shape not only our product but also the infrastructure that powers it. With your technical expertise and enthusiasm for building robust, creative systems, you’ll play a key role in revolutionizing how marketing and sales communications are done. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain backend architecture for a growing SaaS product.
* Build APIs and background services, including:
* Integrations with external platforms.
* Scraping and analyzing content from the web.
* Integrations with internal machine learning services.
* APIs exposed to external customers at scale. Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance , including monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting.
* Contribute to infrastructure and DevOps practices , including CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and cloud operations.
* Take ownership of features from idea to production, ensuring smooth delivery.
* Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to refine requirements into scalable solutions. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving engineering standards and practices. Qualifications 7+ years of industry experience in backend engineering, including maintaining production web systems. 5+ years of hands-on experience with Python, Node, Go, or Ruby in Linux environments.
* Strong knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases
* Proven experience with AWS (or another major cloud provider)
* Solid background with Docker, Kubernetes, and distributed systems at scale
* Experience with monitoring, logging, and performance optimization
* Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus.
* Ability to write clean, maintainable code and continuously improve existing systems.
* A passion for solving complex problems and delivering customer value.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
