What You'll Do:
System Architecture & Design:
Define, design, and oversee system architecture for embedded systems, including Linux internals and bootloaders.
Ensure systems meet performance, reliability, and scalability requirements for cutting-edge applications on routers.
Development & Optimization:
Develop, debug, and optimize embedded C software and kernel modules.
Architect and refine software for networking technologies, ensuring low latency and secure performance.
Drive code quality through hands-on coding, code reviews, and adherence to industry best practices.

As an Embedded Software Engineer on the ENA team, you'll:
Design high-performance networking drivers optimizing bandwidth, latency, and PPS.
Develop kernel and user-space drivers across Linux, Windows, and FreeBSD
Work with AWS proprietary tech and contribute to open-source projects.
Interface with AWS Nitro controllers and virtual instances.
Monitor cloud infrastructure health and maintain quality standards.
Enhance open-source ENA drivers for AWS customers globally.

Key job responsibilities:
- Design and develop networking drivers for next-generation AWS nitro controllers.
- Optimize drivers for high network performance and low latency.
- Maintain and enhance drivers across multiple operating systems (Linux, Windows, DPDK, FreeBSD, MacOS and others).
- Shape software architecture and contribute to upstream open-source repositories.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to resolve complex issues.
- Monitor cloud health and maintain exceptional quality standards.

Technical Ownership

Own the end-to-end embedded software vision for perception systems, balancing scalability, real-time performance, and safety.
Oversee architecture across heterogeneous compute platforms (CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, MCUs).
Ensure best practices in coding, reviews, testing, and integration in real-time, safety-critical environments.
Coordinate with 3rd-party partners on middleware, BSP, OS abstraction, and low-level drivers, with the ability to read and challenge design documentation.
Customer & Partner Engagement
Spend ~50% of your time outbound: lead technical discussions with Tier-1/OEM customers, support escalations, and represent embedded systems in workshops.
Manage relationships with silicon vendors (e.g., TI, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Renesas), staying aligned with their roadmaps.
Ensure embedded deliverables are integrated smoothly with broader system needs in perception, hardware, and validation.
Standards & Compliance
Own compliance with ASPICE, AUTOSAR, ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), and ISO/SAE 21434 (Cybersecurity).
Lead audits, reviews, DFMEA/DFA processes, and quality gates.
Define and enforce engineering processes and metrics across the embedded team.
Innovation & Roadmap
Track industry trends in embedded systems, AI acceleration, and automotive perception.
Shape the long-term roadmap for embedded platforms in collaboration with executives.
Evaluate and adopt new tools, frameworks, and hardware accelerators to enhance performance and safety.
