About the DevOps Tech Lead Role:
Technical Guidance & Mentorship: Serve as the technical authority for the DevOps team, mentoring engineers on best practices, complex problem-solving, and architectural decisions
Deep Hands-On Contribution: Dedicate a significant portion of your time to hands-on coding, infrastructure development, and process automation. You will be a key individual contributor
Advanced System & Cloud Architecture: Take a leading role in designing, implementing, and evolving our cloud architecture for massive scale, ensuring best-in-class resilience, performance, and cost-efficiency
Technical Ownership: Own the technical design and operational health of critical infrastructure components, driving the resolution of complex production issues
Innovation & Automation: Proactively identify and implement automation and innovative tooling to improve system reliability, shorten development cycles, and eliminate manual work (toil)
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams to design next-generation systems, ensuring seamless integration and operational excellence. Actively participate in aligning tools and processes with multiple DevOps teams across the company
Developer Enablement & Scalable Tooling: Focus on building lasting, reusable solutions and internal tools that empower developers. Champion a mindset of creating self-service "paved roads" that improve the developer experience and help engineering teams ship features faster and more securely
Requirements: Deep DevOps Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience as a DevOps or SRE engineer in a large-scale, high-traffic cloud environment
Proven Technical Leadership: Experience acting as a technical lead, a go-to expert for a team, or a mentor for other engineers on complex projects. Formal team lead experience is not mandatory
Expert-Level Cloud & Automation Skills: Deep knowledge of managing production cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP) with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Chef, Ansible)
Container & Orchestration Mastery: Extensive, hands-on experience with Docker and production-grade Kubernetes (K8s) orchestration.
CI/CD & GitOps Fluency: Strong command of CI/CD best practices and modern tools (e.g., Jenkins, ArgoCD)
Advanced Monitoring & Observability: Proven experience building and managing sophisticated monitoring stacks (e.g., Mimir, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki)
Strong System Fundamentals: Solid, in-depth understanding of Linux systems and networking
Excellent Communication: Strong ability to articulate complex technical concepts and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders in both English and Hebrew
Leadership Ambition: Strong technical leader with the ambition to grow into a formal managerial position. The role is designed with a clear growth path to a DevOps Team Lead position
(Bonus) Experience with big data solutions (e.g., Kafka, Spark) or a variety of SQL/NoSQL databases is a significant plus
