We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Configuration Control Engineer to join our dynamic team
As a Configuration Control Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the configuration management process for our organization. Your responsibilities will involve ensuring the consistency, integrity, and traceability of all project deliverables, hardware, and documentation throughout their lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce configuration control procedures and best practices, facilitating efficient product development and enhancing overall quality and reliability. What would you do?
Configuration Management Process: Develop, implement, and maintain an effective configuration management process to support multiple projects and products. Define configuration item baselines and establish procedures for managing changes throughout the development lifecycle.
Version Control: Administer version control systems and repositories for hardware, and other configuration items. Ensure that all changes are accurately documented, labeled, and versioned.
Change Control: Facilitate the change control process by reviewing and assessing change requests, conducting impact analysis, and obtaining necessary approvals. Implement approved changes in accordance with established procedures.
Documentation Management: Oversee the management and organization of project documentation, including technical specifications, requirements, design documents, test plans, and user manuals. Maintain accurate records of document revisions and updates.
Release Management: Coordinate the release of hardware products, ensuring that deliverables are properly packaged, documented, and distributed to relevant stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve configuration management processes and tools, recommending and implementing enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
Identify root causes for BOM quality errors and work solution ideas to closure.
Manage CCB (change control board) forum Define agenda, extract report, follow and track action items
Work with IT team to develop and improve automated reports and tools.
Requirements: Bachelors Degree in industrial Engineering/Operations Management/ Mechanical Engineering
At least 4 years Proven experience in configuration management, change control, or related roles.
Familiarity with configuration management tools (PLM and ERP Systems)
Experience in multidisciplinary companies is an advantage
Strong understanding of configuration management principles, including versioning, baselines, and release management.
High level Excel skills- a must
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams.
Working knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes and BOM structures: print reading, fabrication, coatings, assembly and test procedures
Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
