We are expanding our world-class team and seeking a dynamic deal strategist to lead our content partnerships effort. This role manages relationships with music-industry partners and plays a key role in evaluating potential content partnerships across business lines to ensure their success. Responsibilities include leading negotiation strategy, financial modeling and analysis, evaluation of current and proposed partnerships, market intelligence, and most importantly, impact-driven deal making.
Main Responsibilities:
Deal-making
Lead negotiations with potential partners, mainly focusing on music publishers, record labels, Digital Service Providers, musicians, influencers, etc.
Conduct fact-based modeling and valuation analyses to inform negotiation strategies and structure content deals
Perform research and maintain relevant market intelligence (e.g., ed-tech and entertainment media deals, industry trends and competitive landscape, etc.)
Relationship management
Drive daily licensing operations - usage reporting and payments
Maintain contract schedules and preemptively prepare for renewal talks
Own, develop and deepen relationships with content owners in support of evolving needs
Operational hacking
Drive internal licensing and content initiatives to accelerate and improve Simplys content use
Provide both ongoing and ad hoc data analyses with the goal of informing business decisions across the organization
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to a broad range of internal and external constituents
Requirements: Outstanding quantitative, financial, research, modeling and problem-solving skills
Experience leading, working, and multi-tasking in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Ability to balance business objectives and demanding negotiations
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Self-starter who can work independently within set objectives
Curiosity and drive to uncover root causes of unexpected outcomes
Strong knowledge of corporate finance and basic accounting
The right candidate will be able to explain, and where needed, defend her/his analysis both orally and in writing

Passion for and knowledge of the music landscape, content licensing models, and music content offerings
5+ years of relevant international experience
MBA degree
