You'll play a pivotal role in enhancing the search experience for millions of users worldwide, designing and implementing advanced algorithms that make our platform more intuitive and effective.
What am I going to do?
Develop and optimize search features to improve results recall and relevance, incorporating intent understanding from matching to ranking to placement.
Utilize technologies like Elasticsearch, Lucene, and Solr to build scalable search solutions.
Work closely with data scientists, product managers, and other engineers to integrate machine learning models into the search platform.
Develop robust data pipelines using tools like Kafka and MongoDB to support search functionalities.
Guide junior engineers, sharing best practices in search technology and software engineering.
Analyze offline search metrics like nDCG, MRR and user behavior to identify areas for improvement. Conduct A/B testing and online experiments to validate changes and measure impact.
Leading complex business problems by deconstructing them into smaller issues, researching, and developing innovative search features.
Requirements: BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
3+ years of software development experience with a focus on search technologies and relevance engineering.
Strong understanding of information retrieval, natural language processing, matching and ranking algorithms.
Avid learner with a deep passion for data, eager to explore new territories and solve complex problems.
Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to visualize and explain complex concepts.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in programming languages like Go, Python.
Proficient in A/B testing, metrics analysis, and experimental design.
Utilize data pipelines tools like Kafka and MongoDB to build search solutions.
